Mission France – Logistics, Human Resources and Finance Intern based in Calais (M/F) At Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in cases of armed conflict, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care.

Mission France is looking for a Logistics, Human Resources and Finance Intern based in Calais (M/F).

Context/Mission

The French Mission of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provides assistance to migrants in situations of great social, medical and/or psychological vulnerability on French territory and conducts advocacy actions to facilitate their access to common law.

Since December 2017, Mission France has been developing projects in:

  • ÃŽle-de-France
  • Calais
  • Dunkirk
  • Marseille

The projects provide medical, psychological, social and legal support to people excluded from the healthcare system and develop advocacy activities to promote access to rights and care for vulnerable foreign people.

Internship objective

Under the supervision of the Logistics, Finance and Human Resources Manager, the intern supports the team in the implementation of the logistics, administrative, financial and HR activities of the MSF project in accordance with MSF internal procedures.

The internship aims to enable the intern to develop practical skills in logistics management, administrative monitoring and human resources management in a humanitarian context.

Main missions

1. Logistical Support

The intern participates, in support of the team and in accordance with MSF standards:

  • Monitoring the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment
  • Updating equipment and inventory tracking tools
  • To the administrative management of local orders and purchases
  • Fleet vehicle monitoring (document tracking, archiving, control tools)
  • To the logistical organization of activities (deliveries, preparation of equipment, etc.)
  • Compliance with installation safety standards

2. Administrative and Financial Support

The intern contributes according to MSF procedures:

  • To the preparation and filing of accounting documents
  • During accounting entries in the Unifield software, a second check is performed on the required documents according to internal control rules, and any discrepancies are reported to the supervisor.
  • To the physical and digital archiving of documents
  • To prepare administrative documents required by her supervisor

3. Human Resources Support

Under supervision, the intern participates in:

  • Administrative monitoring and archiving of personnel files
  • To the archiving and updating of HR databases
  • Volunteer management (receiving applications, organizing briefings, collecting and archiving necessary documents) and support for the implementation of the strategy
  • Organizing the arrival and integration of new employees (preparing documents, integration schedule, equipment)
  • Providing administrative support during recruitment (organizing interviews, sending out invitations, etc.)
  • Administrative monitoring of temporary workers and archiving

Desired profile

Formation

  • Student in higher education (Bachelor’s +2 to Master’s +5) in logistics, management, administration, finance, human resources or equivalent field
  • Prior experience in an NGO would be appreciated.
  • Knowledge of migration-related topics is desirable.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel)
  • Rigour and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Interest in the humanitarian sector

LANGUAGES

  • French essential and English desirable

Others

  • Category B driving licence required

Status :

6-month, full-time internship. No remote work.

Mandatory internship agreement.

Position based in Calais

Position available : Starting May 4, 2026

Conditions :

The hourly bonus ranges from €4.35 to €7.97 gross, depending on the level of education. One meal voucher, with a face value of €12 (60% covered by Doctors Without Borders), is provided per day worked.

2 paid days off per month (for internships longer than one month).

50% reimbursement of public transport pass

Reimbursement of a bicycle mileage allowance up to a maximum of €450 per year
