Job Description:

The French Red Cross is a non-profit organization (French law of 1901), recognized as a public utility organization, which has been working to prevent and alleviate all forms of human suffering without discrimination for over 150 years. Our organization leads a large network of 60,000 volunteers in over 1,000 locations. It employs over 18,000 staff and operates 600 facilities in the health, medico-social, social, and education sectors. Recognized for its expertise in international action, the French Red Cross leads over a hundred health and disaster risk management projects (rescue, rebuild, prevent), with an annual volume of approximately €60 million.

The DOI acts to respond to crises, strengthen local capacities and support the development of partner National Societies, within the framework of the strategic priorities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

Purpose of the position:

Main objective of the job, primary role of the employee.

Lead the development and implementation of the CRF’s approach and strategy in supporting the development of National Societies.

The SDSN manager supports the organizational transformation, professionalization and sustainability of partner National Societies, so that they can better respond to the needs of vulnerable populations in an autonomous, efficient and sustainable manner.

This position occupies a central place in the CRf’s international strategy.

The SDSN Manager ensures the consistency and influence of the CRf within the International Movement, aligning its approaches and methods with the IFRC’s overall strategy.

Later

MISSION 1: Promote the SDSN approach and the CRf’s know-how among partner National Societies, the IFRC and the ICRC.

Contribute to the Movement’s coordination, influence and governance spaces (working groups, regional platforms, international events).

MISSION 2: Define the DOI’s strategy in terms of supporting the development of National Societies, as well as its positioning and its service offering in terms of organizational development.

Contribute to the integration of the SDSN into the overall strategic orientations of the DOI and the Movement.

Identify support priorities for National Societies according to their context, their needs and their level of organizational maturity.

MISSION 3: Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the CRF’s SDSN and organizational development strategy

MISSION 4: Ensure that the teams take ownership of the SDSN approach and the CRF’s technical positioning in terms of organizational development

Promote the capitalization and sharing of experiences, in conjunction with other departments and institutional partners.

MISSION 5: Supervise, lead and coordinate the activity of the team under his/her responsibility

Permanent position, based at the Montrouge (92) headquarters,

to be filled as soon as possible

International travel to be expected

Higher education (Master 2 minimum)

Proven experience (≥ 7 years) in strengthening the organizational and institutional capacities of civil society actors, public institutions or humanitarian structures.

Excellent knowledge of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the IFRC National Society Development (NSD) framework .

As a network person, you will know how to establish and lead partnerships within the movement.
