Location: Mexico City – Mexico
Duration: 6 months (subject to the achievement of its objectives and budget availability)

Consultancy Objective: The consultant will be responsible for coordinating and developing cooperation initiatives with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy, and other key actors in the Mexican security sector, with the support of the Country Director. The consultant will also serve as the point of contact between MAG and these actors for all matters related to the preparation of cooperation agreements, as well as the scheduling and planning of activities between the entities.
Activities
This vacancy seeks to fill the following positions:
• Cooperate in the potential development of cooperation agreements (e.g., Memoranda of Understanding) between MAG and the Mexican Navy, government entities, and/or other key actors in the security sector in Mexico. Support and assist the Country Director as needed in this task.
· Provide technical, regulatory and practical advice to the Country Director in support of the implementation of MAG program activities in Mexico.
· Plan, organize and facilitate meetings, coordination and exchange of information between MAG, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico.
· Strengthen communications and information exchange between MAG, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico.
· To act as the resource center and as the contact person with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico and in the various processes that were developed within the framework of said contract.
·Prepare activity reports, accountability reports and presentations for the Country Director, according to the needs of the case.
· Other activities assigned by the Country Directorate.
Required Profile: Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in English (desirable)
Work Experience
• Retired High Rank Military Officer or former Officer of the Ministry of Defense or Navy.
• Previous experience with NGOs, international organizations or the humanitarian sector (desirable).
• Experience in matters of weapons and ammunition management (desirable).
Knowledge and skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
• Negotiation skills.
• Strong skills in reading, calculation and computer skills (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as in the use of search engines and email.
