From the beginning, GvZ believes that its role is to create ways to empower those affected by developing their skills and reviving their sense of humanity and dignity. Through its community centers, GvZ provides women, youth, and marginalized groups with a range of different humanitarian services such as relief aid, protection, education programmers, and communication with other humanitarian actors on how to advocate for issues deemed essential to bring to light. To this end, GvZ strives to continue honing the skills of people to participate in the peacebuilding process and actively advocate for a democracy that reflects a diverse and socially connected society.
Civil Society Enablement Unit (CSEU)
About the Program:
Established in 2018, the Civil Society Enablement Unit supports grassroots NGOs and CSOs through capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening small community-based organizations with the skills and knowledge needed for long-term sustainability.

Furthermore, the CSEU is dedicated to safeguarding children’s well-being and upholding the principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
About the Project:
The MinRef-LEAD project, co-funded by the European Union, aimed to strengthen local independent CSOs working with vulnerable groups—particularly Syrians, Arabs, and other ethnic communities—in Gaziantep, Mardin, and Şanlıurfa. It sought to enhance their inclusion and participation in public and political processes through training, coaching, sub-granting, networking, and evidence-based advocacy informed by the communities themselves.
Through organized networking sessions, the project fostered a multiplier effect, connecting CSOs across Southern Türkiye to enhance coordination, support joint advocacy initiatives, and promote mutual learning
Job Purpose:
To provide professional facilitation services for four (4) strategic networking events,
ensuring productive dialogue, engagement, and collaboration among participants. The
facilitator will work closely with the advocacy and field teams to design and deliver sessions
that effectively meet the defined objectives, culminating in actionable outcomes and a
strengthened network.
Strategic and Operational:
- Session Design & Content Development: Collaborate deeply with the advocacy and
GvZ field teams to design the session flow, develop engaging facilitation materials (e.g.,
agendas, discussion guides, interactive exercises), and ensure content alignment with
the strategic objectives of each event. - Event Facilitation & Moderation: Professionally facilitate and moderate all four
networking events, either in-person or virtual, guiding discussions, managing time,
encouraging balanced participation, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive
environment. - Stakeholder Coordination: Lead facilitation efforts in coordination with the advocacy and field teams, ensuring smooth integration of their feedback and field context into session implementation.
- Output Synthesis & Reporting: Record main discussion points, insights, and action items, and develop a brief post-event report highlighting outcomes and participant feedback in relation to the session goals.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Certification in Facilitation, Mediation, or Organizational Development is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of proven experience in professionally facilitating strategic workshops, networking events, or multi-stakeholder dialogues.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with advocacy groups, NGOs, or community-based organizations is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to co-design session agendas and materials in coordination with subject-matter experts or program teams.
- Experience in facilitating both in-person and virtual sessions using platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet is required.
Competencies:
- Exceptional Facilitation & Communication Skills: Able to command a room—virtual or physical—with clarity, confidence, and neutrality. Strong active listening skills are essential.
- Strategic Thinking: Capable of quickly understanding session objectives and guiding discussions to ensure they are achieved.
- Adaptability & Improvisation: Able to respond quickly and effectively to changing circumstances, adjust agendas in real time according to group dynamics, and handle unexpected challenges with composure.
