JOB DESCRIPTION: TEAM AND HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR
The Team and Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for Human Resources (HR) matters and training for volunteers and volunteer teams
in the field, in the PBI Colombia (COP) project:
Coordination Area
- Integrate the Coordination Team for global, legal, strategic, financial, security and organizational issues of the Colombia Project (COP).
- Participate in the monitoring of the Project’s organizational cycle (assemblies, strategies, decision-making).
- Participation in the development and review of COP strategies.
- Coordinate the comprehensive operation of the field teams
- Participate in / convene internal Committees and Working Groups related to the position.
- Promote and ensure the use and development of the PBI Colombia Manuals and other policies and procedures established as binding references for PBI COP.
- Coordination of the Project’s annual retreat and support for the annual meeting of volunteers (“inter-team”).
- Participation in the Oppression Analysis Committee and/or other relevant spaces, as needed.
- Participation in PBI International spaces for greater coordination and cohesion in the organization.
- Occasional support as needed, in various tasks required in the Project (e.g., text review, etc.).
Human Resources
- Human Resources (HR) planning (volunteer people for field teams) and in coordination with the Project Coordination for salaried people, ensuring that the project has sufficient active staff.
- Coordinate, in cooperation with the person in charge of administration and logistics, the entry/exit of field volunteers to the project.
- Ensure compliance with the HR manual.
- Monitor HR processes, e.g., job postings, self-assessments, committees, etc., and generate the necessary documentation.
- Manage conflict resolution processes, involving teams and volunteers, with a gender, inclusion, and anti-racist perspective. Convene and coordinate, when appropriate, the Human Resources Committee and/or the Conflict Resolution Committee.
- Participate as needed in selection processes for other positions/areas of the project.
- Together with the Project Coordination, ensure the functioning of the Coexistence Committee.
Training
- Organize calls for volunteers and manage the entire training and selection process, according to established protocols, including the formation and coordination of the Training/Selection Committee.
- Ensure that new team members have the skills, abilities and competencies, including experience and/or openness to deconstructing their own internalized sexist and racist attitudes.
- To help create greater diversity among the people involved in the Project.
- Organize initial and ongoing training, monitor the implementation and updating of training materials.
- Include reflections and practical exercises on gender, inclusion, anti-racism, decolonization and on the principles of PBI, particularly horizontality, in all instances of training and in daily practice.
- Ensure that there is a continuous practice of reflection among all volunteers on their experiences and actions in relation to protection, safety, gender/transfeminism, racism and
colonialism.
Health and psychosocial support
- To ensure compliance with the project’s responsibilities regarding health and care for volunteers, both individually and in terms of collective processes.
- Coordinate/participate in the Psychosocial Working Group and Health Committee as needed.
Internal Functioning
- Participate in the collective responsibilities of the COP, such as internal documentation and reporting, participation, coordination and facilitation of internal communications and meetings for discussions and
decision-making, including the annual assembly; comply with security protocols, with monitoring and evaluation tools; logistics management and justification of expenses for
activities carried out; support to other areas and teams as requested and needed; representation of the COP to the rest of the PBI organization. - Rotating shifts on duty (remaining reachable to respond to emergencies during nights, weekends and holidays).
Minimum requirements:
- Training and work experience of at least 3 years in the area of human resources.
- Minimum two years’ experience in adult education.
- Ability and willingness to work collectively and horizontally in a highly diverse and rotating team (due to the temporary nature of the volunteer agreements – 15 months).
- An inclusive figure with great listening skills and a high capacity for assertive communication with people from different cultures.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines independently and in coordination with the team. Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
- Self-management skills, particularly in times of stress.
- Availability to be trained in protection and security matters and to adhere to binding security protocols and support in the collective management of emergencies, if necessary.
- Understanding and acceptance of PBI’s mission and principles and political commitment to the protection of people, organizations and communities that defend human rights.
- Flexible working hours, including, in exceptional cases, weekend work or additional hours.
- Excellent command of Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Availability to travel within the country.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs (Office suite, etc.).
Desirable:
- Having worked on a GDP Project.
- Experience with the concept and methodologies of popular education, or similar
- Experience in project coordination.
- Political view of the conflict and the human rights situation in Colombia.
- Adequate command of English at written, reading, and oral levels
JOB CONDITIONS:
This position is located in Bogotá. For administrative and budgetary reasons, contracts are for two years, extendable depending on resource availability, with a 3-month probationary period and a 40-hour work week. 25 days of vacation are provided, plus an additional 5 days for those on call (as is the case for this position), plus applicable Colombian holidays. The contract is contingent upon obtaining a Colombian visa.
- Salary: 4,605,410 COP net per month (13 annual payments)
- Family policy of 450,000 COP per child under the age of 18 per month.

- PBI covers the costs and procedures for the visa application.
- Flight details for the project’s final entry and exit, if it is located outside of Colombia.
- Partial financial support for the purchase of an annual vacation flight to the country of origin.
- Installation costs if located outside of Colombia.
