Support the delivery of flagship initiatives and strategic partnerships that strengthen the United Nations’ engagement with and for young people globally.

UNOPS has signed an agreement with the United Nations to implement the activities for the United Nations Youth Office.

The United Nations Youth Office was established to strengthen the UN system’s capacity to engage with and for young people, advance meaningful youth engagement across intergovernmental and policy processes, and support the implementation of global commitments for youth. The Office serves as the system-wide anchor on youth affairs, convening stakeholders across the UN system, governments, civil society, philanthropy, and the private sector to accelerate youth-centered action.

Within this context, the Programme Management – Senior Analyst will support the design, coordination, and implementation of strategic initiatives, flagship programmes, and partnerships across the Office’s workstreams. The incumbent will contribute to strengthening ecosystem engagement, operationalizing communities of practice, supporting high-level advocacy and global convenings, and advancing integrated programme delivery across thematic priorities, including youth participation, skills development, mental health and wellbeing, and climate action.

The incumbent of this position will be personnel of UNOPS under its full administrative and financial responsibility.

The Programme Management – Senior Analyst will provide substantive and operational support for the planning, implementation, and coordination of key initiatives led by the UN Youth Office. This includes supporting flagship events and strategic processes, strengthening stakeholder coordination mechanisms, advancing community-building and partnership ecosystems, and contributing to advocacy and policy priorities. The role requires strong programme management, stakeholder engagement, and coordination skills, as well as the ability to work across teams and with external partners in a dynamic and high-visibility environment.

1. Programme Planning and Delivery

  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of flagship programmes and initiatives led by the UN Youth Office, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery against agreed objectives.
  • Contribute to the execution of the UN Youth Office annual workplan, including cross-functional coordination across thematic and operational pillars.
  • Support the delivery of major youth-focused convenings and engagements, including high-level events during the UN General Assembly, ECOSOC Youth Forum, and other strategic global moments.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the annual UN Youth Townhall and related ecosystem engagement mechanisms.
  • Assist in developing implementation plans, timelines, and operational workflows for strategic initiatives.

2. Stakeholder Coordination and Ecosystem Activation

  • Support the day-to-day implementation of strategic multi-stakeholder initiatives led by the UN Youth Office, including flagship partnership deliverables focused on youth engagement, skills development, and ecosystem strengthening.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement processes across youth-serving organizations, institutional partners, and aligned networks to support collective action and sustained collaboration.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the UN Youth Office’s global youth network strategy, including the development of coordination structures, engagement pathways, and collaboration mechanisms under key partner-supported initiatives.
  • Support the operational delivery of the Misk Foundation partnership workplan, including coordination of activities related to the establishment and growth of a global youth network and associated communities of practice.
  • Maintain and strengthen stakeholder management systems, including partner mapping, engagement tracking, and follow-up processes to support effective collaboration and accountability.
  • Facilitate regular coordination with youth constituencies, implementing partners, and ecosystem actors to ensure alignment, visibility of opportunities, and continuity across initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of stakeholder briefings, convening materials, and engagement summaries to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

3. UN Youth Compass Coordination and Community Building

  • Support implementation of the UN Youth Compass as a flagship system-wide initiative, ensuring effective coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the operationalization and expansion of the UN Youth Compass Community as a global community of practice and “network of networks” for youth-serving stakeholders.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and ecosystem analysis to identify opportunities for strategic engagement, alignment, and partnership-building.
  • Support development of value propositions, engagement frameworks, and coordination models for communities of practice and partner networks.
  • Facilitate coordination with aligned initiatives across the UN system and external ecosystem actors.

4. Advocacy, Communications and Influencer Engagement

  • Support the development and implementation of advocacy initiatives to advance key UN Youth Office priorities, including youth mental health and wellbeing, youth skills, and civic participation.
  • Facilitate the day-to-day engagements of the Young Leaders for the SDGs, as the UN Youth Office’s flagship recognition scheme for young people around the world.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of influencer engagement strategies and external-facing campaigns.
  • Coordinate outreach and engagement with digital creators, youth advocates, and public-facing partners to amplify youth priorities.
  • Draft briefing notes, speaking points, key messages, and background materials for senior leadership engagements.

5. Youth Climate Engagement and Strategic Coordination

Support coordination and engagement with UN system climate partners and youth constituencies under relevant youth climate coordination mechanisms, including engagement with EOSG, UNFCCC, YOUNGO, and COP-related youth actors.

Coordinate regular meetings, consultations, and follow-up processes related to youth and climate action.

Support the Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs on climate-related engagements through drafting, logistical support, and stakeholder coordination.

Contribute to policy and advocacy inputs connecting youth priorities to climate and sustainability agendas.

6. Monitoring, Knowledge Management and Reporting

  • Support tracking of programme implementation, milestones, and deliverables across assigned workstreams.
  • Maintain internal coordination tools, stakeholder databases, and reporting frameworks.
  • Contribute to drafting donor updates, internal reports, meeting summaries, and strategic briefs.
  • Capture lessons learned and support knowledge-sharing across initiatives and partnerships.
  • Support data collection and analysis to strengthen evidence-based programme planning and partner engagement.
