IMPACT AND ITS INITIATIVES
IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization manages several initiatives, including REACH, AGORA, and PANDA. The IMPACT team comprises specialists in data collection, management, and analysis, as well as GIS. IMPACT is a sister organization of Acted, an international NGO headquartered in Paris and present in some thirty countries. The two organizations have a strong complementarity formalized in a global partnership, allowing IMPACT to benefit from ACTED’s operational support in its areas of intervention.
We are currently seeking a project, partnerships and support officer to support our IMPACT team in the DRC.

Title: Project and Partnership Support Officer (PPSO)
Contract duration: 6 months (depending on confirmed funding)
Work location: Kinshasa with possible travel to Kalemie and other provinces.
Start date: December 2025
COUNTRY AND MISSION PROFILE
Since 2016, IMPACT—currently present in Kinshasa, Goma, Bukavu, and Kalemie—has been providing rapid and in-depth assessments, information management services, and mapping through its three initiatives, REACH, AGORA, and PANDA, to inform humanitarian planning and action in the DRC. All publicly available information products produced by the mission in the DRC can be accessed on the REACH resource center .
The DRC continues to face an acute and complex humanitarian crisis. Recurring conflicts in the eastern provinces, health crises and natural disasters, as well as the chronic poverty suffered by a large part of the population, all contribute to the high level of humanitarian needs. By 2025, it is estimated that 21.2 million people in the DRC will be in need of humanitarian assistance, including 17.6 million who are food insecure.
FUNCTIONS
Under the direct supervision of the Project and Partnership Support Manager (PPSM), the Project and Partnership Support Officer (PPSO) is responsible for supporting the identification, development, and management of grants within the mission. The ideal candidate will be eager to work within a dynamic and motivated team and will have a clear focus on project development as a tool to improve the effectiveness of the humanitarian response in the region. Priorities will be determined jointly with the Country Director, and the level of involvement in tasks may vary depending on the candidate’s profile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
All the tasks below support the PPSM, and involvement may vary depending on the individual’s profile, seniority, and context. The PPSO’s responsibilities include the following:
POSITIONING AND FUNDRAISING
FUNDRAISING AND STAKEHOLDER ANALYSIS
- Regularly conduct a stakeholder analysis: who does what and where (3Ws)
- Based on the mission strategy and the research unit strategies, support funding identification by regularly monitoring published opportunities; research and identify funders whose strategies/priorities align with those of IMPACT
- Regularly analyze donor and funding trends in the DRC, needs and gaps through media/online monitoring, coordination meetings (where applicable), meetings with stakeholders (where applicable) and internal coordination meetings with the management team (SMT).
EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- Supporting global cooperation with IMPACT’s sister organization, Acted (which hosts IMPACT in its scope of operations) in relation to project development and grant management by ensuring that communication is regular and timely and that synergies are sought and developed.
- Maintain an up-to-date directory of donors, international and local NGOs, other partners and stakeholders
- Ensure that fundraising activities are properly tracked in the funding tracking system (or a similar tool), which is regularly updated to record the latest negotiations and proposal opportunities with donors.
GRANT MANAGEMENT
PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT
- With the PPSM, the CR and the SMT, support the planning of project proposals (problem statement, logical framework) and the development of other fundraising documents (expressions of interest, concept notes) in accordance with IMPACT’s country strategy and donor requirements and in close collaboration with partners and the finance department.
- Liaise with relevant technical staff (PPSM, CR, research managers) and other relevant departments (i.e. Finance, Logistics) to ensure that relevant contributions are provided by the required focal points regarding the documents required for a submission (technical proposal, budget, budget justification, etc.).
- Process and coordinate the timely response and submission of all donor comments on proposals in liaison with relevant staff in the country, IMPACT regional/headquarters PPSD teams and finance teams.
CONTRACTUALIZATION
- In coordination with the CR, the RPPSM and the HQ PPSD, review/negotiate proposals and/or contracts with donors, ensuring that requirements are clear and understood.
- Support the incorporation of project elements into the Ninox database, including project code via email, analysis of reporting requirements and associated specifications, and required updates throughout the project lifecycle.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING
- Ensure the timely completion of grant-related processes such as the monitoring and review of Ninox.
- Ensure that timely kick-off meetings are organized involving all project components and focal points.
- Ensure the establishment and regular updating of project progress, key findings and success stories (including key M&E findings – where applicable).
- Ensure that all contractual obligations are clearly defined and communicated internally in terms of deliverables as well as narrative and financial reporting requirements, in close coordination with the PPSM/HQ PPSD and (where applicable) with the partner’s project development and finance department.
- When a problem is identified in meeting deliverables within the given timeframe and budget, inform the relevant staff in the country and suggest potential solutions that would comply with the donor’s rules.
- Ensure that ad hoc requests from donors are addressed in conjunction with the CR, program and support teams.
- Implement and oversee the project-specific classification system for grant management and ensure that it is regularly updated.
- Provide ad-hoc support for project implementation by resolving problems and removing roadblocks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar position; humanitarian experience strongly preferred
- Education: Master’s degree in international relations, political science, social research, economics, development, fundraising or equivalent
- Skills: Proven experience in fundraising, grant management, monitoring and evaluation
- Knowledge of the humanitarian system and donor/government requirements
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a complex environment
- Autonomy and ability to work independently
- Flexibility in a multicultural environment
- Experience in the DRC or a region of Sub-Saharan Africa is an asset
- Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) is required.
- Ability to operate in a complex security environment
- Ability to work in a team
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Gross monthly salary between CHF 2,100 and CHF 2,160 + monthly allowance of USD 300
- Accommodation and meals provided in a guesthouse
- Membership in the Swiss private pension fund (Swisslife – approx. 9.975% of gross salary), health insurance, life insurance and repatriation assistance
- Plane tickets every 6 months and visa fees covered
- Contribution to baggage transport: between 20 and 100 kg depending on the duration of the contract (+ baggage and personal effects insurance)
- Pre-departure induction: 3 days at IMPACT headquarters in Geneva + 1 week of training at ACTED headquarters in Paris, including 4 days of on-the-ground safety training
- Staff mental health is a priority: health insurance covers up to €1000 per year of psychosocial support costs.
