Summary of the position

The project officer’s responsibilities include delivering every project’s deliverables on time, within budget, and within scope. And supervise the project assistant

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key relationships:

Grant, Syria Office Manager, MEAL, IMU, Field Offices, Finance Manager, Procurement, Logistics. Project Assistant

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Projects management

  • Closely coordinate with the project manager
  • Coordinate resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that project(s) are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Contribute to the timely and quality implementation of the project in line with its work plan.
  • Assist the project department manager in developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Assist the project department manager in the development of a detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Contribute to sufficient follow-up of the procurement plan, and review and validate the purchase order within the time and scope of the project.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure and track project spending on a monthly basis from all donors
  • Ensure required reporting is done timely and accurately.
  • Attend a weekly meeting to review the project’s status with the program team.

Representation

  • Represent SAMS in all relevant fora in relation to the position duties, e.g., UNOCHA, NGOs, and donors, as requested by the project department manager.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required:

  • A university degree in the medical science field (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in health project management is mandatory.
