Background
The International Development Corporation, a Research & Development organization headquartered in Canada, is seeking several experts to implement awareness-raising and support activities for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Chad.
Mission objectives
The objective of the mission is to support the project in mitigating the risks associated with EAS/HS, raising awareness and preventing GBV and providing holistic support to survivors of gender-based violence in the project’s intervention areas in the Provinces of Hadjer-Lamis, Kanem and Lac.
Specific objectives
The specific objectives of the mission are
- (i) to identify the type(s) of GBV/EAS/HS risk in the Project’s intervention area,
- (ii) to design and implement awareness and prevention campaigns regarding these risks, both at the level of the communities concerned and among workers and any other person hired by the project,
- (iii) to ensure that survivors have access to holistic care through a service access intervention protocol and referral to appropriate facilities, and
- (iv) to monitor the number of gender-based violence complaints that have been reported and resolved through the Complaints Management Mechanism (CMM) designed specifically for monitoring GBV incidents.
Candidate qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree (3 years post-high school) in sociology, social work or human rights;
- At least three (03) years of experience with an NGO in the field of GBV or in a similar position;
- A good knowledge of written and spoken French;
- Possess excellent analytical, writing and summarization skills;
- Knowing how to communicate and showing humility towards beneficiaries and stakeholders.
