IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects
During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Specific Responsibilities:
•Specific Responsibilities:
- plan and implement individual, group, and community-based PSS activities in safe and inclusive spaces.
- Identify and support individuals with psychosocial needs through basic counseling, active listening, and emotional support.
- Conduct awareness sessions on mental health, coping strategies, child protection, and social well-being.
- Facilitate recreational and life skills activities for children, adolescents, and adults.
- Work closely with Case Management, Protection, Health, and Education teams to ensure referrals and follow-up of cases requiring specialized mental health or social services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of participants and activities.
- Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of PSS activities to the supervisor.
- Participate in regular team meetings, supervision, and capacity-building sessions.
- Promote community participation and inclusion in all PSS interventions.
- Adhere to the organization’s safeguarding, confidentiality, and code of conduct policies at all times
-Strictly adhere to humanitarian and protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including the Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection
Qualifications:
Context/Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in psychosocial support, community engagement, or protection programming (preferably with NGOs or humanitarian organizations).
- Knowledge of psychosocial principles, child protection, and gender-based violence concepts.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and ability to build trust with vulnerable populations.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and stressful environments..
