In this role, you will support the development of a behavioral science-informed Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) toolkit and communication materials to strengthen immunization uptake in Vanuatu, Samoa, and Tonga. You’ll play a key part in identifying behavioral drivers of vaccine hesitancy and designing Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) approaches that help Ministries of Health and partners effectively engage communities and promote positive health behavior

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The RCCE Expert will report to the project manager. Typical tasks include:
- Conduct a desk review of existing immunization communication materials, behavioral studies, and relevant SBC/RCCE resources.
- Support the analysis of behavioral drivers and barriers related to immunization, including vaccine hesitancy.
- Contribute to the development of an SBC toolkit framework, incorporating behavioral science principles such as nudging, framing, defaults, and incentives.
- Develop or support the development of country-adapted communication strategies and messaging guidance.
- Contribute to the design of community engagement approaches and RCCE tools to strengthen immunization uptake and preparedness for public health emergencies.
- Support the development of communication collateral for multiple platforms (e.g., social media, radio scripts, posters, job aids, FAQs).
- Participate in stakeholder consultations and validation workshops.
- Contribute to the finalization of the SBC toolkit and guidance note for implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in RCCE and health communication
- Experience in immunization, public health campaigns, or vaccine confidence
- Proven experience developing toolkits, communication strategies, or behavior change interventions
- Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or Ministries of Health is an asset
- Experience in the Pacific region is mandatory
