Here’s where you come in:

As Regional Advisor, Research, Evidence and Impact, you will lead and advise on research and evidence generation across the East Asia Region, positioning World Vision as a thought leader in child well-being and community development. You will work closely with Field Offices, regional teams, and external partners to shape and prioritize research agendas that align with strategic goals and external engagement plans. This includes representing World Vision in regional research forums and technical working groups, and cultivating partnerships with academic institutions, think tanks, and donors.

You will ensure that all research initiatives are high-quality, ethically sound, and strategically targeted to influence key stakeholders, including donors, policymakers, and the broader development community. You will support Field Offices in designing robust methodologies, developing research tools, and producing compelling evidence-based materials that elevate World Vision’s technical credibility and advocacy efforts.

Additionally, you will analyze program data across the region to assess the strength of evidence supporting World Vision’s impact, enabling data-driven storytelling and adaptive program management.

Requirements include:

  • At least five years of experience in applied research, including Research methodology, Policy analysis, Policy-based development programming, Impact evaluation methodology and Qualitative research
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, or Humanitarian Assistance, with demonstrated expertise in research design and methodologies.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting field-based data to inform program design and policy.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with institutional donors, UN agencies, academic institutions, and research organizations.
  • Skilled in using statistical and data science software (e.g., STATA, R, SPSS) for both quantitative and mixed-method research.
  • Expertise in research design, including sampling, tool development, and ethical considerations.
  • Strong data management skills, including data classification, organization, and quality assurance.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

  • Occasional travel within the region may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office or home-based with standard physical demands, including extended periods of computer use and virtual meetings.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English at a professional research and publication level, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in a regional language is an asset.
