We operate in Mexico City, Tapachula, Chiapas, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, where our teams work to meet the direct needs of people in the context of human mobility and survivors of violence (returnees, refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced communities).

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Lead the technical, programmatic, financial, and operational coordination of the project, ensuring compliance with objectives, results, budget, timeline, quality standards, and commitments established with donors, partners, and participants. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating project implementation throughout the entire project management cycle, ensuring adherence to Plan International’s institutional procedures, donor contractual terms, and the principles of gender equality, inclusion, child protection, safeguards, and accountability. They will also lead the project team, coordinate with key partners, communities, and institutions, oversee budget execution, and promote the generation of sustainable results and positive impacts for children, adolescents, youth, and participating communities.
This person will be responsible for:
- Plan, coordinate and supervise the comprehensive execution of the project to ensure compliance with the established objectives, results, schedule, budget and quality standards.
- Direct the technical implementation of the project, ensuring programmatic quality, the application of institutional methodologies, and effective coordination among the different actors involved.
- Adapt methodologies, tools, materials, and implementation strategies to the specific characteristics, needs, risks, and contexts of the participating populations and intervention territories.
- Oversee the financial and administrative execution of the project to ensure the efficient use of resources and compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Strengthen and manage relationships with donors, institutions, partner organizations and strategic actors to facilitate the achievement of project results.
- Ensure systematic monitoring of project performance through evidence-based monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability processes.
- Lead, support and strengthen the project team by promoting a culture of performance, collaboration, well-being and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the availability of the resources, materials, and operating conditions necessary for the implementation of the project activities.
- Promote safe environments for carrying out programmatic activities, through the application of security protocols, the identification of risks and the implementation of mitigation measures.
- Promote the effective integration of Safeguarding, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEAH) and Gender Equality and Inclusion policies in all activities under its responsibility.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, project management, development or related disciplines.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in project management or coordination.
- Experience in budget management and donor compliance.
- Experience in inter-institutional coordination with government bodies related to child protection.
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in humanitarian projects, child protection, gender, education or community development in Mexico.
Digital and technological skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and collaborative platforms such as Teams and SharePoint.
- Proficiency in computer tools and project management systems.
- Ability to record, systematize and analyze sensitive information on digital platforms, guaranteeing data security and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with data protection and cybersecurity protocols in humanitarian contexts.
