Job Description

As a Seed Production Coordinator, you will play a strategic role in implementing One Acre Fund’s certified seed multiplication program in the DRC. You will work closely with agro-multipliers, public institutions, and research centers to improve access to quality seeds for smallholder farmers. This position combines field supervision, quality management, partnerships, and structuring regionally replicable systems.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Design and Entrepreneurship Manager, you will be responsible for:

Supervision of field activities

  • Coordinate all stages of seed production, from plowing to harvest, at sites managed by One Acre Fund or in partnership.
  • Carry out regular visits to monitor crop developments and provide solutions in real time.
  • Manage the distribution and traceability of inputs
  • Collect, analyze and report performance indicators

Quality control and certification

  • Apply quality control protocols
  • Coordinate inspections, sampling and certifications with SENASEM.
  • Supervise post-harvest steps:

Capacity building and standardization

  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production and quality control.
  • Provide technical support for the development of training modules for agro-multipliers.
  • Lead training sessions for partner cooperatives.

Partnership and logistics management

  • Develop a network of approved agro-multipliers.
  • Represent One Acre Fund with technical partners, local authorities and public institutions.
  • Monitor logistics flows between production, storage and distribution sites.
  • Facilitate official visits (authorities, donors, management).

Requirements:

We are looking for a professional with a strong commitment to agricultural development and expertise in seed production:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in agronomy, particularly in certified seed multiplication.
  • Mastery of good agricultural practices (GAP) and post-harvest techniques
  • Excellent skills in field team management and coordination of multi-site projects.
  • Proficiency in digital tools: Excel, mobile data collection, basic GPS.
  • Fluent written and spoken French; knowledge of Lingala or a local language is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with public, private and community stakeholders.
  • Autonomy, rigor, team spirit, and commitment to the values ​​of the One Acre Fund.
