The Drugs for Neglected Diseasesinitiative (DNDi) is an international, not-for-profit research and development (R&D) organization. Together with more than 200 public research and industry allies worldwide, we use the power of partnership, innovation, open science, and advocacy to develop and deliver new treatments for neglected diseases that disproportionately impact millions of the world’s poorest people.
The External Relations Department drives DNDi’s visibility, influence, and financial sustainability. Its Communications, Private Sector Fundraising & Partnerships, and Institutional & Public Fundraising teams ensure that DNDi is visible, supported by committed stakeholders, and successful in securing the resources needed to deliver on its mission.
Purpose of the position
The Senior Digital and Content Officer will will plan, create and distribute of high-impact digital content for DNDi’s social media platforms. This role will contribute to both DNDi’s global digital communications strategy and outputs, as well as to the Latin America regional communications strategy, with a particular focus on Spanish-language content and audiences.

Specific Job Responsibilities
1st area – Digital content creation, production, dissemination, monitoring and asset management
- Develop short videos, reels, clips, graphics, and other multimedia content tailor-made for all DNDi social media platforms, sourcing and managing relationships with external service providers when needed
- Support content production and editorial process for all DNDi global channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Youtube): developing ideas, scripts, storyboards, post-production of content developed across the team, optimizing content based on audience behavior
- Ensure all materials follow DNDi branding and ethical communication standards by following and contributing to validation and review processes
- Manage Spanish-language social media ambitions, website and needs with a view to building brand, audience and interactions; propose and manage content collaborations with Spanish-language creators and partners; manage Spanish-language online audience through interactions, responses, tagging, etc.
- Support the administration of DNDi’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system storing photo and video assets and actively participates in steering the Communications Team for best practice management of these digital assets
2nd area – Spanish-speaking Latin America communications
- Participate with colleagues in Rio in determining the ambitions, strategies and outputs for Latin America communications
- Propose and implement communications strategies directed towards Spanish-speaking Latin American stakeholders and audiences, including NGOs, Ministries, patients and communities, industry partners, donors, etc
- Help create and review Spanish-language content for events, panels, booths, and other face-to-face activities, including invitations, agendas, presentations, and other assets
- Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading Spanish-language content for the organization’s Latin America website; support the adaptation of existing materials into Spanish for web publication, following brand and style guidelines; collaborate with the communications team to update and maintain Spanish-language sections of the website;
- Make sure all Spanish-language content is clear, easy to read, and provides a smooth user experience.
Reporting line
- Senior Digital Content Officer reports to Senior Communications Manager
Interactions
- Works closely with global digital and content teams across multiple continents, as well as with the Latin America Communications Team within the Communications Department.
- Liaise with external vendors and partners on routine matters. Ensure tasks are coordinated and implemented according to plans.
- Collaborators, counterparts, and service providers are mainly in the functional area in and outside DNDi to get information, guidance, and feedback or to enlist cooperation. Works on the organization of representation of DNDi at smaller events and with external stakeholders of same equivalent level

- Collaborative mindset and ability to manage operational complexity in a focused scope.
- Strong proficiency in social media content production tools, including graphic design and video editing software such as CapCut, InShot, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms.
Qualifications
- First university degree (Bachelor level) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Additional courses or specializations are considered an asset.
- Post-graduate diploma or continuing education an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure
- Experience working in the public and private sector is highly desirable
Other Requirements
- Native Spanish speaker with advanced proficiency in English; knowledge of Portuguese is a strong asset Proficiency in local languages desirable
