Your main missions

The Finance Officer will support the implementation of the multi-country “Skill Up!” program. Skill Up! enables young people to access employment and increase their income through technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The program has three components: the English-speaking component, funded by BMZ in six countries and implemented in seven (India, Kenya, Malawi, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, Uganda); the French-speaking component, privately funded in four countries (Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali); and the Skill Up!+ initiative, also privately funded in six countries (Afghanistan, Mali, Pakistan, South Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe). Country-level projects are supported by local finance officers.

The Finance Manager will support the Skill Up! Program Coordinators in managing and coordinating all financial aspects at the program level, including financial reporting, monitoring, and compliance with applicable internal and external regulations.

Based in a country office, the Finance Manager is part of the local team and works closely with the Skill Up! program coordinators at WHH headquarters, as well as with the WHH finance managers in each program country. A finance manager based at headquarters will provide technical support in pairs.

Job Description:

  • Support the coordination and management of program finances in accordance with internal policies, BMZ regulations and private donor requirements.
  • Contribute to budget activation in FundsPro (accounting system) and support program budget planning.
  • Support the coordination and monitoring of financial data entry and updating in FundsPro to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    Contribute to the coordination of financial matters with finance managers in participating country offices.
    Participate in the preparation of regular financial summaries, including individual and consolidated budget balances, as well as expenditure tracking.
