About the Project (Community Center in Ioannina, Greece)
Be Aware And Share (BAAS) is an independent non-profit organization that supports people in need. Founded in 2015 in Basel, Switzerland, BAAS is engaged in working with people on the move in Europe. The organisation is currently focused on supporting people on the move at its Community Center in Ioannina, Greece. The multi-storey building offers various services and activities such as a free clothes shop, hot meals distribution, a safe space for women, language courses, a creative atelier and various social activities, among others.
Job Description
As a Social Media Intern (50%), you will support the communication efforts of our Community
Center in Ioannina by helping to create and share engaging content across our platforms
(Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn). Your work will help raise awareness, share the voices of our
community, and highlight the daily life and impact of the Center. During the other half of the
internship (50%), you will work on the project, supporting the daily operations of the project
alongside other volunteers and the Project Coordination team. The preferred starting date is the
beginning of September or October 2025. The internship is unpaid.
Social Media Tasks (50%)
- Capture photos and videos of daily activities at the Community Center, adhering to our
guidelines - Create compelling and informative content for BAAS’ social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), including stories, reels, and posts, using tools like Canva
- Contribute ideas for content and storytelling
- Collaborate with the on-site and remote PR team during regular meetings to align
messaging and coordinate upcoming campaigns or posts
Project Tasks (50%)
- Assist in the daily operations of the Community Centre
- Run and restock the Free Clothes Shop
- Organise and/or partake in social activities (arts and crafts, kids’ activities, women’s space, language classes, sports, games, and more)
- Help cleaning the Center at the end of the day
Requirements
- Experience in creating engaging social media content and enthusiasm for trying out new
formats and ideas - Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team
- Good command of written and verbal English
- Desired knowledge of the local context and refugee rights
- Minimum commitment of 3 months
- Being able to reside legally in the European Union for the duration of the internship
- Starting date from beginning of September / October 2025
