Team lead, Resourcing & Impact At MS ActionAid Denmark

ActionAid Denmark is looking for a strategic and collaborative Team Lead to help strengthen our ability to be findable, fundable and likeable.

ActionAid Denmark is part of ActionAid International, a global federation working with more than 25 million people in 45 countries to advance social justice, sustainable development and people-powered change. We work alongside communities, partners and movements to address poverty, inequality and injustice, and we are looking for a Team Lead who can help us connect our impact, partnerships, positioning and income generation in new and stronger ways.

About the role

The Team Lead, Resourcing and Impact, will lead a multidisciplinary function spanning resource mobilisation, strategic partnerships, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, documentation, and organisational learning. The role is about more than traditional fundraising. It is about creating coherence between communication, engagement, impact documentation, strategic foresight and fundraising, so that ActionAid Denmark is better positioned to secure funding, build relationships and demonstrate the change we contribute to.

Situated within AADK’s Programme Department, this new role will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including the Engagement Department, to strengthen how we document and communicate impact, engage different audiences, sharpen our positioning and identify opportunities emerging in the world around us. You will help ensure that evidence, learning, relationships and narratives come together in ways that support organisational sustainability, accountability and influence.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead strategic partnership development, donor engagement and external positioning.
  • Drive the development and implementation of resource mobilisation strategies, including diversification of funding sources and markets.
  • Oversee fundraising pipelines, proposal development, donor reporting and documentation.
  • Strengthen organisational MEAL systems, impact evidence generation and learning practices.
  • Work with communications, engagement and programme colleagues to make AADK’s work more visible, compelling and accessible to different audiences.
  • Establish and maintain effective knowledge-sharing systems and learning commons.
  • Support stronger co-learning with partners, grantees, donors and colleagues across the ActionAid federation.
  • Use strategic foresight to identify trends, risks and opportunities that can shape fundraising, positioning and programme development.
  • Provide strategic, operational and people leadership for the 5-person Resources & Impact team, including planning, performance management, professional development and wellbeing.
  • Ensure sound financial stewardship, risk management, compliance and quality assurance across the team’s portfolio.
  • Contribute actively to Programme Cluster leadership, organisational learning and cross-organisational collaboration.

Key Deliverables

Success in the role will be measured by diversified funding, strong donor relationships, effective MEAL and reporting, and accessible systems for organisational learning, knowledge sharing and high-quality external evidence.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a leader who can bring people, systems and ideas together. You understand resource mobilisation, but you also see how fundraising depends on strong evidence, clear narratives, trusted relationships, strategic communication and organisational readiness. You are able to lead through complexity, build alignment across teams and translate strategy into priorities, workplans and measurable results.

  • Solid demonstrated experience with resource mobilisation, strategic partnerships, donor engagement and proposal development.
  • Strong understanding of MEAL, impact documentation, knowledge management and organisational learning.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural remote teams and developing people through coaching, feedback and clear accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically with positioning, communication and audience engagement.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build productive internal and external relationships.
  • Experience with donor compliance, reporting, financial oversight and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English (Danish a plus, but not required).
  • A collaborative, adaptive and learning-oriented leadership style.
  • Commitment to feminist, rights-based and locally led approaches to social change.

Location and reporting line

The role reports to the Director of Programmes, Marianne Møllmann, based in Germany, and supervises 5 colleagues working on strategic partnerships, MEAL and knowledge management, based in 4 different countries. The role may be based in Copenhagen, New York City, or Washington D.C. Candidates elsewhere may also be considered if they are close to major institutional donors and foundations; applications must explain the strategic relevance of the proposed location. Candidates must hold valid residency and work authorisation in their proposed country of employment.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to shape a function that is central to ActionAid Denmark’s future sustainability, relevance and influence. You will work with committed colleagues across programmes, engagement, learning and partnerships to strengthen how AADK, and the broader ActionAid federation, is seen, understood and engaging with the world around us. If you are motivated by social justice, strategic collaboration and the challenge of connecting evidence, engagement and resources for greater impact, we would like to hear from you.

We offer a locally contracted leadership role with genuine influence over resource mobilisation, organisational learning, team development and AADK’s external positioning. You will join a collaborative, mission-driven environment that values professional development and continuous learning. Salary, benefits and employment conditions follow local labour law and market terms in your place of employment.

Indicative salary range:

New York: approx. USD 110,000–140,000 gross annual salary, plus benefits according to local terms

Copenhagen: DKK 54,000–66,000 gross monthly salary incl. Pension (set by the local AC collective agreement, based on experience and seniority).
