Context :
Present in Burundi for over 40 years, the Terre des Hommes (Tdh) Foundation works alongside national authorities, communities, and civil society to protect children and promote their rights. Its programs primarily cover child protection, access to justice, and humanitarian response, particularly for children exposed to violence, in contact with the law, or affected by population displacement and crisis situations.
Tdh acts through the strengthening of community and institutional protection mechanisms, the promotion of child-friendly justice and, in emergency contexts, the deployment of integrated responses including child protection and WASH.
In a constantly evolving programmatic environment, the delegation pays particular attention to the quality and impact of its interventions, the strengthening of its expertise, and the continuous improvement of its practices. The recruitment of a Technical Coordinator is part of this dynamic, aiming to support the quality, coherence, and development of the delegation’s programs.
Responsibilities:
Under the responsibility of the Head of Delegation, the Technical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the technical quality of the Delegation’s programs.
He/she ensures the application and contextualization of institutional frameworks and international standards, develops methodological approaches when program needs require it and supports teams in their implementation.
He/she provides the necessary expertise to strengthen their technical quality, develop methodological approaches and secure the main technical deliverables expected by partners and donors.
With recognized expertise in child protection, he/she is involved in particular in the design of reference materials, manuals and training programs for community, educational and institutional actors.
He/she also manages the technical unit and works closely with the technical advisors in the regional office and headquarters to contribute to the development of Terre des hommes’ approaches in Burundi.

Desired profile:
Formation :
Master’s level university degree in a relevant field related to child protection, education, social sciences, psychology, law, international development or humanitarian action
Training/certification in designing and facilitating train-the-trainer programs
Experience and skills:
- At least 8 years of professional experience in the humanitarian or development sector, including significant experience in a senior coordination or technical advisory role in child protection.
- Proven experience in the design and development of frameworks, curricula, manuals, methodological guides or training programs, ideally developed or validated in collaboration with national authorities or public institutions
- Proven experience in designing and facilitating training of trainers (ToT) programs, as well as in capacity building for institutional, community, or educational stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary technical teams
- Experience collaborating with ministries, national authorities or institutional partners in the development, validation or deployment of approaches, frameworks or training programs
- Experience in technical exchanges with institutional donors, particularly United Nations agencies, is a major asset.
- Excellent command of international standards applicable to child protection, as well as safeguarding principles
- Excellent command of the project cycle and programmatic quality approaches in humanitarian and development contexts
- Strong skills in designing frameworks, methodologies, teaching tools and capacity-building mechanisms
- Demonstrated ability to support multidisciplinary teams and strengthen their technical capabilities
LANGUAGES :
- Excellent written and spoken French. English is an asset.

- Proficiency in common tools and applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Kobo, etc.)
Conditions :
- Swiss contract
- Gross monthly salary between CHF 4,300 and CHF 5,600 depending on experience – x13.36 months
