In eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, conflict is exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. In the provinces of North Kivu and South Kivu, many people are facing violence, forced displacement, and limited access to essential services. Traveling Logistics Coordinator in the DRC, 100%
Your main responsibilities:
- The coordinator plays a cross-cutting role in supporting, ensuring quality control, compliance, and capacity building for HEKS/EPER logistics teams in Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu. They conduct regular missions to the various bases to verify the proper understanding and effective application of procedures, identify discrepancies, implement necessary corrective actions, and progressively support national teams towards greater autonomy.
- You oversee the entire supply chain, including purchasing, inventory, transportation and deliveries.
- You are responsible for the sustainable management of IT equipment, telecommunications and radio communication systems, as well as energy supply solutions. You also oversee the management of the vehicle fleet, with the support of the logistics team and the fleet manager.
- You will supervise and manage the logistics teams based in Goma and at the various intervention bases. You will conduct regular missions in Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu and provide coaching, mentoring and capacity building to the national logistics teams.
- You assess the quality of logistics management as well as the level of application of HEKS/EPER procedures and donor requirements. You prepare teams for internal and external audits and ensure follow-up on the implementation of recommendations.
- You maintain regular contact with the actors in charge of humanitarian clusters and proactively participate in other relevant coordination mechanisms.
Your strengths and skills:
- Higher education or specialization in the field of logistics.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, in volatile security contexts.
- Proven experience in field logistics management.
- Proven experience in training, coaching and capacity building of national teams.
- Demonstrated ability to assess the level of understanding and application of procedures, to identify gaps and to support the implementation of corrective measures.
- Experience in internal auditing, compliance, quality control or review of logistics procedures is a significant asset.
- Excellent command of French and good knowledge of English.
- Good knowledge of the requirements of institutional donors (ECHO, BHA, United Nations agencies, etc.).
- Knowledge of the following sectors is an asset: EHA, SAME and emergency distributions (cash and AME).
- Availability for frequent travel and extended missions, including in volatile security environments and restricted access areas.
