Tunisia – Administrative, Accounting and Logistics Management Consultant At Oxfam-Québec

This is a 12-month assignment in Tunis, Tunisia.

The mandate stems from the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Programme (VCP) , which operates in 12 countries and 3 regions over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, in claiming and exercising their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.

Here’s what your daily life will look like:

Working closely with partner organizations and Oxfam team members in Tunisia, the advisor will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the start-up of PCV activities in the country.
  • Supporting teams in documentation related to the PCV (requisitions, quotations, payment receipts, etc.) concerning payments and assisting the finance department in monitoring payments.
  • Monitoring the logistical needs related to PCV volunteers and supporting them in their expense reports and reimbursement requests.
  • Strengthen the capacities of partners in financial and accounting matters.
  • Assist in the monthly preparation of cash flow forecast requests for partners or volunteers as needed.
  • Support the monitoring of operating advances for volunteers and their settlement according to OXFAM’s current procedures.

For this mandate you must:

  • To have Canadian citizenship or permanent residence in Canada;
  • Hold a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, or any other relevant field;
  • Possess 2 years of relevant experience in the NGO sector and/or International Cooperation;
  • Knowledge and proficiency in using computer tools and accounting software appropriate for NGO accounting.
  • Having the ability to plan, manage time and organize work.
  • To have a good understanding of the socio-economic context of Tunisia.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French (required); Arabic and/or English are an asset;
  • Mastering the Office suite.
