How can you make a difference? Key functions / Responsibilities

The Treasury Assistant’s primary purpose is to provide essential operational and documentary support
to the Treasury and Finance department of the Venezuelan Red Cross. This role is fundamental to ensuring efficiency and transparency in the timely issuance of payments to suppliers, staff, and beneficiaries, as well as guaranteeing the proper organization, recording, and filing of all financial documentation and transaction support. Their work directly contributes to maintaining the integrity and compliance with the institution’s financial procedures.

Functions:
• Processing and Validation of Payment Orders: Receive, review, and process payment requests,
verifying that they have the necessary approvals and supporting documentation, in accordance with
Red Cross policies.
• Issuance and Execution: Assist in preparing files for banks, donors, and financial partners.
• Bank Control: Monitor banking transactions (deposits, withdrawals, and
transfers) and assist with daily and weekly bank reconciliations, identifying and reporting
any discrepancies.
• Assist in cash count procedures for Red Cross operational units.
• Support the Red Cross’s financial document review processes.
• Perform other tasks related to the position and those assigned by immediate supervisors, based on the specific characteristics and conditions of the position, to provide quality
service.

Responsibilities
1. Actively work towards achieving the objectives of the Financial Directorate of the Venezuelan Red Cross
2. Comply with and work in accordance with the principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent

3. Perform any other work and responsibilities related to providing financial support to the
National Society.


The Accounting Assistant will report to the Treasury Officer .

Workplace
Caracas (CRV Headquarters).

To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in the social and/or private sector, with progressive responsibilities in the Treasury/Accounting area.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Proven experience in preparing individual financial statements, cash management, tax compliance according to Venezuelan legislation, as well as accounting by projects, operating centers and accountability reports.
  • Discretion, neutrality and confidentiality regarding your work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills and a solution-oriented person.
  • Ability to work well in a multicultural team.
  • Excellent stress management
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer packages (Office, Adobe).
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Interest in working in a humanitarian and international environment.
  • To work independently, and to have the ability to establish a network of contacts.
