The Venezuelan Red Cross (CRV) is a humanitarian organization whose mandate is to save lives and improve the conditions of vulnerable people. As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, it provides timely assistance in emergencies, disasters, and other humanitarian crises.

How can you make a difference? Key functions / Responsibilities
The Protection and Reference Assistant will have the main responsibility of providing support in the work to be carried out by the Local Coordinator and Protection Officer.
He/She will be in charge of:
- To track medical referrals issued by the branch’s medical team.
- To raise awareness about the scope of the Venezuelan Red Cross’s humanitarian action in the area of ​​human mobility.
- To position the auxiliary role of the Venezuelan Red Cross as a key local actor in human mobility issues.
- Strengthen coordination with local government actors on the importance of protecting and promoting the rights of people in human mobility.
- To support local initiatives aimed at assisting, protecting and integrating people in human mobility.
- To influence public narratives and attitudes about human mobility based on the evidence and principles of the Movement.
- To be a spokesperson for coordination and advocacy purposes in previously authorized strategic spaces.
- Supervise the activities carried out at the family reunification service points under the guidelines of the protection area.
- Create an advocacy strategy at the local level.
- Prepare follow-up, periodic and final technical reports and report to the local Coordinator.
The Protection and Reference Assistant will report to the Local Coordinator, the Protection Officer, and the National Project Coordinator .

To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system, you must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in sociology, education, social work, nursing, health promotion, social communication, public health.
- At least one year of experience as a health representative, promoter, or advocacy professional. Minimum experience of one (1) year.
- At least 1 year working with health teams, including doctors and nurses, in the implementation of medical and community activities at the health and protection level.
- Experience working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Capacity and agreement to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics.
