Job overview:
The Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Assistant is responsible for implementing the project strategy and activities, in coordination with the Food Security, Livelihoods, and WASH Manager. They will also be responsible for coordinating and implementing activities through an integrated approach with the various areas, programs, MEAL (Medium-Level Operational Areas), and supplies of CIR-VE (Regional Intervention and Development Center – Venezuela) to ensure the proper execution of activities according to the logical framework, work schedule, and budget plan. The assistant is expected to travel frequently to the field to implement program activities. Furthermore, they will be responsible for reporting to the Food Security, Livelihoods, and WASH Manager on activities, providing supporting evidence within a monthly planning framework.
Main responsibilities:
- To accompany and provide support to the work plan designed by the Food Security, Livelihoods and WASH Manager.
- Lead and support the implementation of training activities in selected CIR-VE methodologies aimed at the targeted communities.
- To accompany and provide support to the prevention processes and strategies developed in Communities by the Food Security, Livelihoods and WASH Manager.
- To lead, accompany, and support participatory community diagnostic processes in the identified intervention areas.
- Support and ensure compliance with the program’s internal purchasing and procurement processes; develop purchasing plans, create purchase requests and other elements of the institutional process, under the leadership of the Food Security, Livelihoods and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Manager.
- It recognizes media outlets, spaces for participation and generally identifies the key actors in the territories of intervention for the development of the organization’s mandatory activities.
- Support the Food Security, Livelihoods and WASH Manager in the processes of identifying the needs of the targeted communities.
- Develop awareness-raising activities in the Communities about the CIR-VE Programs and interventions.
- To accompany in the processes of follow-up, monitoring and evaluation (Exchanges of Experience and Learning Communities) of the impacts and changes in the communities to identify the impact of the CIR-VE interventions
- Manage the additional and/or complementary needs of customers by identifying existing service offerings and potential organizations to provide a response (service mapping).
- Support the implementation of the CIR-VE Community Mobilization Strategy on the ground, ensuring the associated documentation, the dissemination of progress, and providing suggestions for emerging challenges.

- Submit weekly reports of activities performed
Program Development
- Contribute to the development of the strategic direction of the food security, livelihoods and water, sanitation and hygiene program
- Coordinate with personnel from the CIR-VE areas (SAMDV-WASH, Health, Protection, MEAL) at the field level.
- Contribute to the development of program planning, safeguarding the achievement and scope of goals, the efficient use of resources, and compliance with institutional procedures.
- Provide input and recommendations drawn from your field experience and interaction with clients to make programmatic improvements.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Complete the reliable checklist and report any problems to the supervisor.
- Gather the necessary information, during and after the interventions, as well as the focus group discussions.
- Apply the measurement tools specific to the program’s methodologies and those required at the monitoring level.
Job requirements:
- Professional in engineering, environmental and natural sciences, social sciences, development management or related areas.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the management and execution of humanitarian projects, with a focus on water, sanitation and hygiene and/or logistics management.
- Previous experience in an international organization; preferably with humanitarian experience.
- Strong ability to follow instructions and work plans, manage resources, and communicate assertively.
- Previous experience in representation and coordination platforms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver as estimated in work plans.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and a solid results-oriented work approach.
- Ability to work both independently and within a dynamic, multifunctional global team structure.
- Demonstrable experience in community work, development of methodologies in the fields of livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene and/or food security
