Job Description:
The French Red Cross is a non-profit organization (governed by the 1901 law) recognized as a public service organization that has been working to prevent and alleviate all human suffering without discrimination for over 150 years. Our organization leads a vast network of 60,000 volunteers operating in more than 1,000 locations.
It employs more than 18,000 people and has 600 facilities in the health, social care, social services, and education sectors. Recognized for its expertise in international action, the French Red Cross manages more than one hundred health and disaster risk management projects (rescue, rebuild, prevent), representing an annual investment of approximately 60 million euros.
The international action of the French Red Cross is implemented by its teams within the Directorate of International Operations (DOI), composed of approximately 65 employees at headquarters, 200 expatriates and 1,000 national staff in some twenty countries.
Job context
The French Red Cross (CRf) has a strong presence in Mauritania, Guinea, Togo-Benin and Niger.
Since 2025, the organization has undertaken a strategic overhaul of its presence in West Africa in order to more effectively support the implementation of the RCF’s global strategy.
In a context of reorientation of donor funding, the CRf is now focusing its efforts on its strategic priorities:
Community and Public Health
Capacity building for sister National Societies (NSS)
Technical partnerships and innovation: assessments, pilot projects, targeted support
While maintaining a strong operational presence through its delegations, the CRf aims to preserve its capacity for action and its resilience for the years to come.

PURPOSE
Provide support to the Desk Manager to ensure the coordination and consistency of projects designed/implemented within the geographical area, taking into account the geopolitical and humanitarian context, national company policies, donor guidelines, objectives set, and resources allocated by the French Red Cross.
To provide support to delegations in the development of projects, the monitoring and evaluation of programs, and in obtaining funding for their projects.
The position
PARTICIPATION IN THE OPERATIONAL STRATEGY OF THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA
Participates in and leads strategic thinking on program development
Collects relevant information gathered from the field that can inform strategic thinking
Produces a historical record of activities/programs that can serve as a baseline for prospective analysis
PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROJECT PROPOSALS
Supports the coordination of the submission procedure for all project proposals
Assists countries in drafting proposals and funding requests by leveraging its knowledge of donor activities/programs and regulations; supports the monitoring of funding request/response processes.
Supports the development of terms of reference for consultant assignments
Provides support to delegations in starting new projects
PARTICIPATION IN PROJECT MONITORING AND REPORTING
Provides support in coordinating the monitoring of project/program progress, identifies implementation challenges, provides direct support, or calls upon support functions (Technical, Finance, Logistics, HR, etc.) to resolve problems/propose solutions
Provides on-the-ground support in finalizing narrative reports
Provides support in the management of financing contracts (preparation of files, responses to requests for additional information, etc.)
COMMUNICATION INTERNE
Ensures the updating and dissemination of information relating to projects and intervention contexts: project sheets, website, in collaboration with the communications officer
Ensures the compilation and distribution of weekly and monthly reports from the countries, and verifies the archiving of documents throughout the project lifecycle.

International travel is to be expected!
With a higher education degree (Master 2), you have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
Meeting coordination and facilitation skills
Excellent command of the project cycle and its monitoring tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Good knowledge of funding agencies (AFD, Interreg, CDCS, ECHO etc.)
A good level of English is essential
