Who we are?

IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects

During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of patients’ medical histories: Before making a diagnosis on a patient, the radiologist must evaluate the patient’s medical condition to ensure that the tests are not causing harm. some patients
  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: x-ray doctor performs or direct radiology staff to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, such as X-rays, MRIs, CT Scans and ultrasounds, to diagnose illnesses and injuries. In the case of a sports-related injury, for instance, a doctor may order an X-ray to determine whether a bone is broken.
  • Interpret Test Results: Following a diagnostic test, x-ray doctor uses their medical training and expertise to make a diagnosis based on the results. Radiological imaging can be used to diagnose everything from cardiovascular issues to cancer.
  • Consult with Colleagues: The X-ray doctor communicates test results and their diagnosis to the patient’s primary physician through a written report. In some cases, the doctors also may confer verbally, either by phone or in person.
  • Preparation of technical reports and the development of working methods using modern technique
  • Providing safety and professional tools and means, providing appropriate health conditions at the workplace, and developing procedures and ensuring safety and health requirements.
  • Conduct other assigned tasks -within areas of experience- by the Medical Manager.
    Follow the medical director’s instructions. In his absence, he shall follow the instructions of any other authorized member the instructions of any other staff of the IDA International.
  • Commitment to educating resident physicians in the correct scientific manner and in accordance with the curriculum approved by the Medical Specialization Authority.
  • Strictly adhere to humanitarian and protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including the Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection

Qualifications:

Context/Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Radiologist doctor
  • Minimum seven years’ experience, including the period of specialisation.
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Applications).
  • Experience working in the Syria Response and/or a strong demonstrated understanding of the country context and that of the wider Syria crisis.
