Working closely with senior management, the Human Resources Coordinator oversees strategic human resources management and ensures organizational governance of human resources across the organization. It supervises the headquarters human resources team and plays a key role in organizational transformation and supporting managers on human resources issues at headquarters and international offices.
Main responsibilities
- Defines and drives the organization’s global human resources strategy internationally, in consultation with the management team;
- Supports management in organizational transformations and changes to support the development of the organization;
- Develops and proposes strategies for the development of a positive and healthy work environment by promoting the well-being of employees;
- Advises management on various strategic and institutional issues concerning human resources;
- Supports managers in managing sensitive or conflictual interpersonal situations related to potentially contentious situations;
- Responsible for developing and coordinating the implementation of annual organizational human resources plans;
- Develops, reviews, and recommends strategies, policies and tools promoting effective human resources management, particularly in matters of international mobility, diversity and inclusion;
- Supervises the head office human resources team and ensures sound management of its budget in accordance with current financial rules;
- Stay abreast of new trends in human resources management.
- Strategically represents the human resources function with management, partners and collaborators as well as during important negotiations;
- Ensures compliance with various labor laws in Canada and advises national teams on this matter.
And, in general, performs any other related task useful or necessary at the request of the organization.
Desired profile
- University training in a relevant field (human resources, business administration, industrial relations);
- At least nine years of experience in the field of human resources;
- Expertise in strategic consulting and human resources support for managers;
- Experience in developing and implementing human resources strategies with a solid knowledge of labor relations practices;
- Experience in change management and organizational transformation;
- Experience in supervising, coaching and developing teams;
- Good command of laws, regulations, directives and government policies applicable to human resources management;
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in French;
- Political sense and diplomacy in the management of complex and sensitive situations;
- Active listening, empathy and ability to build relationships of trust and collaboration;
- Have the right to work in Canada.
Assets
- Professional title, CRHA;
- Ability to communicate easily in English and/or Spanish in a professional context;
- Experience in human resources management within multicultural and international environments;
- Experience in strategic management of human resources relocations in international offices;
- Work experience in international cooperation.
