Job summary:
Leading and coordinating the psychosocial support team to ensure an integrated and effective response that meets the needs of women and girls, especially survivors of gender-based violence.
This includes technical and administrative supervision of the team’s activities, and providing a safe and supportive environment that enables beneficiaries to access high-quality psychological and social services, while respecting the principles of protection, privacy and confidentiality.
Work is also underway to ensure that all interventions comply with the approved project standards and are aligned with the cultural and social context of the local community, with the aim of achieving a response that respects human dignity and enhances opportunities for recovery and empowerment for the targeted groups.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Managing the PSS team and distributing daily tasks to ensure coverage of all beneficiaries.
- Monitoring the quality of psychological and social services provided and ensuring the application of the PM+ methodology and international protection standards.
- Preparing team work schedules and ensuring adherence to them.
Evaluation and follow-up:
- Assessing the psychological and social needs of the beneficiaries in cooperation with the project team.
- Monitoring the status of beneficiaries and providing periodic reports on their progress and the results of interventions.
- Ensuring that data is collected securely and confidentially in accordance with the data protection policy.
Planning and implementation:
- Participating in the planning of monthly and quarterly psychological and social activities and programs.
- Organizing individual and group support sessions for women, girls, and survivors of violence.
- Coordinating psychological support activities with vocational training and community awareness activities to integrate services.
- Training and capacity building:
- Training the PSS team on best practices in psychosocial support and early intervention in cases of violence.
- Providing ongoing guidance and technical support to team members.
Coordination and partnerships:
- Collaborating with protection teams, GBV case managers, and partner organizations to facilitate referrals to specialist services when needed.
- Participating in protection sector meetings and maintaining open communication channels with relevant local and national authorities.
Compliance and standards:
- Ensuring the implementation of child protection policies, prevention of exploitation and abuse of beneficiaries (PSEA), and data privacy.
- Adherence to the Do No Harm principles in all team interventions.
- Basic requirements:
- A university degree in psychology, social work, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in psychosocial support in emergency contexts or conflict-affected communities.
- Desired requirements:
- Experience in leading teams and managing field activities.
- Strong knowledge of the PM+ methodology and best practices in psychological support for women, girls and survivors of GBV.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Arabic and a good knowledge of English are an added advantage.
- The ability to use data collection and reporting tools
