Mission :

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Emergencies, you will participate in the development of the emergency preparedness strategy, in connection with and contributing to the overall ERRU strategy, and will be a driving force for proposals regarding preparedness for humanitarian emergencies.
Your missions will be to:
Lead Emergency Preparedness in collaboration with other ERRU activities/supports
Manage the Emergency Preparedness team and other people depending on the funded projects: a team composed of 2 Preparedness Coordinators
Supervise the work of Emergency Preparedness and provide support to the Country Offices through regular and proactive technical support
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Emergency unit and good inter-team collaboration in order to ensure continuous improvement in the management of emergency preparedness and response at ACF
Lead the implementation and evaluation of field operations during emergencies requiring the deployment of senior profiles and ensure the organization’s representation in technical forums when necessary

Profile :

You hold a Master’s degree in international relations, public health, crisis management, humanitarian action, or equivalent.
You have at least 7 years of humanitarian experience, including 5 years in emergency coordination/programs and multicultural team management. You have proven experience in emergency preparedness and response, as well as experience in change management. Experience with Action Against Hunger is an asset.
With strong skills in business development and fundraising, you are able to represent the organization internally and with donors, clusters, and technical partners. Your strategic leadership and inter-stakeholder coordination skills allow you to manage and develop your teams and make decisions in uncertain environments.
You are proficient in emergency management tools and approaches (PPRU, MPM, humanitarian financing, anticipatory action).
A good communicator, you are fluent in French and English, both spoken and written. Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and/or Arabic is an asset.

Conditions of employment

Status: Autonomous Executive – 6.5 month fixed-term contract from 03/11/2025 to 15/05/2026 as part of a maternity leave replacement – Full time
Location: Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis)
Remuneration: From 47K to 56K euros gross per year over 13 months depending on experience
Benefits: 25 days per year of paid leave and 19 days of RTT
