About the Role

  • Contract duration 12 months, with the option to extend for an additional 12 months

  • Based in Funafuti

This role supports the Tuvalu Office of the Auditor General (OAG) in advancing key public financial management (PFM) reform initiatives under the Government’s PFM Roadmap. The Compliance Audit Adviser will provide strategic, technical, and operational guidance to establish and strengthen a dedicated Compliance Audit Unit within the OAG. The position focuses on enhancing accountability, transparency, and good governance across government entities, donor-funded projects, and state-owned corporations. Working closely with OAG leadership, stakeholders, and Te Ao technical teams, the adviser will help build institutional capacity, align compliance audit functions with the Audit Strategic Plan and Government priorities, and promote a coordinated, sustainable approach to improving efficiency and control in public financial management.

About You

This role requires a qualified professional with a tertiary qualification in Auditing, Public Accounting, Finance, Public Financial Management, Information Systems, or equivalent experience and training, coupled with 8–10 years’ experience in compliance auditing or similar public financial management systems within government settings. You bring strong experience working in multi-donor environments, with a solid understanding of compliance auditing principles and their practical application.

Experience in compliance auditing, along with excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills, will be highly valued.
