Aim:
Their primary function is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of personnel, goods, and documents, as well as support logistical tasks related to vehicle maintenance, consumption and transportation reporting, and communications equipment. This role is key to the operational functioning of field missions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Transport NRC personnel, visitors, documents, and property/materials to designated destinations when officially approved.
- Ensure the safety and security of passengers, goods and the vehicle.
- Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, and general repair and maintenance/service needs of the assigned vehicle.
- Observe local traffic regulations and NRC logistics policies.
- Keep the logbook updated for all trips.
- Responsible for the assigned vehicle, maintaining the vehicle in proper working order at all times, including keeping the vehicle clean, ensuring sufficient fuel, checking its technical condition, etc.
- Coordinate repairs and services with the line supervisor.
- Ensure the vehicle has all necessary documents and equipment.
- Provide logistical support during trainings and workshops or field assignments.
- Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidelines and procedures and specific responsibility for the policies and procedures of the function
Professional Competencies:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a driver in institutions, companies or organizations.
- Experience driving in adverse conditions (rain, rural roads, heavy traffic)
- Experience in community service or field work (desirable)
- Having completed and passed high school.
- Basic preventive maintenance of light and heavy vehicles
- Knowledge of current traffic regulations in El Salvador
- Local geography and main routes in urban and rural areas
- Road safety protocols and basic first aid
- Basic knowledge of the use of computer tools
