Platform Developer/Marketing – Syria Media Literacy Lab

1. Background
The Syria Media Literacy Lab project aims to provide participating media
professionals with journalistic skills and competencies in order to lay the foundations
for an overall improvement in the quality of media coverage in Syria. To this end,
training courses are being implemented and a preparatory study is being conducted
on the local media landscape and the circulation of disinformation in Syria, which will
contribute to the achievement of the project’s objectives and indicators.
2. Purpose of the position
The Platform Developer/Marketing provides support in setting up a website and
social media channels, project visuals, technical tender specifications and social
media campaigns.
3. Responsibilities and tasks
 Support in setting up a website and social media channels
 Support with technical tender requirements such as application forms
 Support in creating project visuals and social media campaigns.
4. Cooperation and reporting lines
 The Platform Developer/Marketing reports directly to the Project Manager and
the Head of Research.

5. Requirements for the Platform Developer/Marketing
 University degree in marketing, journalism, media or other relevant fields
 Several years of practical experience in marketing
 Proficiency in WordPress and other CMS systems, as well as Canva and
social media
 Business fluent in English and Arabic.

6. Contractual framework

 Scope of employment: 5 days in October/November 2025 on a freelance
basis
 Location: remote
