Economic Recovery Assistant
The Danish Refugee Council is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in over 40 countries to provide adequate assistance and protection to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees, people on the move, and vulnerable local populations/host communities. DRC is currently seeking a highly qualified Economic Recovery Assistant based in Carúpano , Venezuela.
About the work:
DRC is managing its operations in Venezuela, under the direction of the country office in Caracas and three field offices located in the states of Sucre, Apure, and Zulia. DRC Venezuela is implementing activities such as protection monitoring, legal assistance, individual protection assistance for PWSN, information sessions for PoC, prevention of human trafficking, rehabilitation of health infrastructure, and food security.
Position objective :
The Economic Recovery Assistant will be responsible for providing support in the implementation of project activities on the ground, primarily in the preparation and execution of food distribution sessions, complementary livelihood and protection activities, as well as logistics, community outreach, and documentation processes, ensuring compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Operational and logistical support:
- Support in the preparation of activities in the communities.
- Participate in the preparation and organization of the distribution site (tents, signage, furniture, service areas).
- Ensure the proper distribution of food and non-food assistance by supporting access control, list verification, the delivery of beneficiary cards or documentation, and other related tasks.
- Actively collaborate in the direct delivery of food or kits, ensuring order, respect, and fluidity.
- Ensure the safekeeping and order of materials, field inventories, and verification methods.
- Support in receiving food, controlling quantities, and temporary storage if required.
- Participate in the joint verification of acquired goods and equipment and verify the conformity of items with technical specifications and quantities.
- Other activities necessary for the correct implementation of the project.
Community accompaniment
- Provide guidance to beneficiaries on the delivery process and delivery times.
- Give priority to people with specific needs: the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, among others.
- Support the team in the processes of convening, community information, and group organization.
- Respect the cultural practices of indigenous communities and support the logistics of participatory activities.
- Facilitate the implementation of workshops or community activities required by the program, in accordance with the identified needs.
Documentation and monitoring support
- Support in the collection of signatures and documents related to the means of verification.
- Inform the Team Leader of any incidents, complaints, or difficulties encountered during activities.
- Participate in surveys, needs assessments, or data collection if necessary.
- Keep a log of activities and routes when required by the base manager.
Experience and Technical Competencies:
- At least 1 year of experience working with communities or on social/humanitarian projects.
- Experience in delivery and administration of humanitarian aid.
- Experience in rural, hard-to-reach contexts or indigenous communities will be an added value.

Education:
- Technical or professional training in social work, community assistance, logistics, or related areas.
Languages : Spanish
