Field Investigators/Researchers – Chad At SoCha LLC

Context

We are building a roster of investigators, field researchers, supervisors and data collection assistants based in Chad for potential humanitarian assessment missions related to livestock, livelihoods, food security and economic security.

The priority area for this mission is the Lake Region , particularly Bagasola .

Candidates based in other regions of Chad are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates may be considered for future data collection, monitoring, evaluation, research, translation, supervision, or field support missions in Chad, as needed.

The missions may include household surveys, interviews with key informants, group discussions, community consultations, field observations, translation and field reports in rural, conflict-affected or hard-to-reach areas.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducting household surveys, interviews and group discussions.
  • Collect data on livestock farming, animal health, access to veterinary services, livelihoods, food security, water, income and resilience.
  • Working with pastoral, agro-pastoral, agricultural, displaced, returnee and host communities.
  • Use digital tools like KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO or similar.
  • To translate and facilitate exchanges in French, Arabic or local languages ​​as needed.
  • Respect the principles of informed consent, confidentiality, safeguarding, PSEA, Do No Harm and data protection.
  • Submit reliable data and field reports on time.

Desired Profile

  • Experience in surveys, evaluations, research, project monitoring or humanitarian data collection.
  • Work experience in Chad, ideally in the Lake Region or in conflict-affected areas.
  • Good knowledge of rural, pastoral or agro-pastoral communities.
  • Experience with household surveys, key informant interviews, group discussions or qualitative interviews.
  • Ability to use an Android smartphone for digital data collection.
  • French required. Arabic strongly preferred. Fulfulde, Kanembu, Goran or other local languages ​​are an advantage.

Chad — priority given to the Lake/Bagasola Region, but candidates from all regions can apply.
