Job summary, aim and purpose:
The Field Site Manager oversees all field operations for the home restoration project. The role aims to ensure work is carried out according to approved plans and specifications, efficiently manage field teams, and monitor work quality and safety, thereby guaranteeing that project objectives are met on time and in accordance with the engineering standards and policies adopted by the organization and the donor.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Supervising and managing all field activities of the project and ensuring compliance with technical specifications and engineering standards.
Monitoring the progress of daily work and resolving technical and administrative problems at field sites.
Managing engineering, technical, and contractor teams to ensure efficient and high-quality work execution.
Preparing and reviewing periodic field reports on progress, quality, risks and challenges
Coordination with other project teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to the project timeline
Supervising the provisional and final acceptance of works and ensuring their conformity to specifications.
Monitoring the use of materials and equipment and ensuring their quality and conformity to technical specifications.
Developing field work plans and improving operating procedures to ensure efficiency and quality
Participating in coordination meetings with internal teams, beneficiaries, and contractors
Ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health standards, quality policies, and accountability
Providing technical and administrative support to field teams when needed.
Perform any additional tasks assigned by project management to ensure project objectives are met
Job requirements
University degree in civil or architectural engineering
Arabic and English languages
Ability to travel is required
At least 5 years of practical experience in field project management or construction site supervision
Experience in supervising work teams and contractors and ensuring quality of execution
Knowledge of engineering standards for reconstruction and repair projects
High proficiency in using basic computer programs (MS Office) and engineering design software such as AutoCAD
The ability to work in multi-tasking field environments and adapt to different working conditions.
Confident communicator, capable of earning people’s respect
Strong leadership and supervisory skills for managing field teams
High planning and organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to minute details
Effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
