Financial Analyst At International Bureau for Children’s Rights

OFFER SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Administration and Finance Department, the incumbent works closely with other members of the Finance Department, and in regular collaboration with members of the Administration and Operations Departments. University degree in finance or financial management, or administration or equivalent experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing and without excluding other mandates that may be entrusted to him from time to time by the Administration and Finance Department, the person holding the position will be responsible for:
FINANCE
• Monitoring the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual budget management of the projects under his responsibility, using the Microsoft GP Dynamics tool
• Verifying the accuracy of the operational budgets of the IBCR projects and periodically reporting on the progress of the projects under his responsibility
• Participating in the creation of annual and multi-year budgets for the projects assigned to him
• Participating in the production of financial reports to the lessor for the projects
• Carrying out financial and budgetary analyses at the request of the Finance Department
• Supporting the configuration of the budget in the Microsoft GP Dynamics system for the projects assigned to him.
• Producing analytical tables in finance and accounting matters at the request of the Finance Department,

ACCOUNTANT
• Record all financial transactions in real time in Microsoft GP Dynamics
• Ensure to obtain all supporting documents related to the monitoring of the projects assigned to him
• Ensure the conformity of the supporting documents and their recording on time in the accounting system.
• Prepare and pay the balances of all accounts at the end of the contract of employees, PC and consultants in the projects assigned to him
• Verification and reimbursement of medical expenses/insurance presented by the HR manager for the projects
• Ensure the follow-up of purchases requested by the program coordinations according to the policies and procedures of the IBCR and the donor and in compliance with the budget for the projects assigned to him
• Ensure the payment of contracts with partners or other suppliers according to the signed agreements in compliance with the budget and the policies and procedures of the IBCR and the donor
• Follow up on contractual obligations with service providers (insurance, purchases, partnership agreements)
• Analyze the accounts of the General Ledger related to the projects;
• Record general end-of-period entries;
• Ensure compliance with the company’s accounting standards and administrative procedures;

AUDIT
• Acquire an understanding of the company’s main risks, strategies and operations;
• Collaborate and implement management tools and internal controls at the expense level;
• Assist the senior executive or manager in planning audit missions;
• Conduct audits of the financial and operational activities of different projects;
• Issue recommendations to senior management to reduce the risk of fraud and improve operational efficiency;
• Assist in the preparation of external audit files and tax files, and answer questions;

REQUIREMENTS
•Minimum of three years of professional experience in similar positions
•Proficiency in EXCEL (macro, pivot table)
•Knowledge of Microsoft GP Dynamics
•Sense of responsibility. Analytical skills. Initiative. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Knowledge of Global Agency Canada’s financial monitoring and reporting tools.
•Excellent command of French, both written and spoken
•Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
•The person must have the status allowing them to work in Canada.

Assets
• Experience in the international development sector or other equivalent sector
• Knowledge of English and/or Spanish a serious asset
