SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs, such as food, water, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the areas of access to drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion, as well as in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams – a total of 3,200 people, including expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers – operate with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
MAIN OBJECTIVE
The work-study student is integrated into the logistics and information systems team at Solidarités International headquarters and supports the activities of the Supply Chain and Logistics/General Resources departments. He or she is involved in daily field support activities, as well as in documenting logistics tools, responding to field requests, and internal department coordination.
This position also includes a cross-functional dimension, through which the work-study student will be able to contribute to the monitoring of cross-functional logistics projects, the structuring of performance indicators, as well as the updating of the Carbon Footprint and the monitoring of the organization’s decarbonization roadmap, under the direct supervision of the department director.
ACTIVITES
Response to field requests and task dispatch
– Integrate the pool of people who can be mobilized for logistics and supply field requests
– Participate, at the request of managers, in responding to incoming requests
– Ensure the traceability of requests and contribute to the efficient distribution of tasks
Supply Chain Service Support
– Support order management for the field and headquarters: receiving needs, sourcing suppliers, entering them into internal tools, drafting purchase orders and other purchasing documents
– Contribute to updating tracking tools (orders, suppliers, deadlines)
– Participate in the physical and administrative management of the central stock (receptions, shipments, inventories, record keeping)
– Contribute to the optimization of stock flows and the compliance of procedures (storage, labeling, security)
– Prepare logistics documents for international shipments (packing lists, invoices, certificates)
– Monitor shipments in conjunction with carriers and participate in logistical coordination with missions
Support for the Logistics and General Resources department
– Contribute to logistical support in the field: participate in processing field requests (vehicle fleet, infrastructure, equipment, telecommunications), in conjunction with other members of the department.
– Participate in the monitoring and updating of shared tools: request tracking tables, logistics process documentation, technical sheets, guides, FAQs, etc.
– Support the deployment of logistics standards and capitalization: assistance with the dissemination and updating of logistics procedures/general field resources (maintenance, fleet, energy, security, etc.), participation in capitalization or benchmarking work.
– Support the department’s cross-functional activities: coordination with other departments on logistics/general resources issues, support for the preparation of training or the facilitation of communities of practice.
– Contribute to the management of general headquarters services (in addition to field priorities): monitoring of shared equipment, management of consumables or services related to buildings, participation in energy monitoring or the improvement of responsible practices.
Monitoring of logistics indicators
– Participate in the entry and consolidation of departmental indicators
– Support the updating of monthly reporting tools
– Suggest avenues for improvement for performance monitoring
Carbon Footprint and Decarbonization Roadmap
– Contribute to updating the organization’s overall Carbon Footprint, by collecting and consolidating activity data (staff, missions, volumes, budgets) and updating extrapolation files.
– Support the monitoring of the decarbonization roadmap at headquarters and in the field, by updating the action schedule, collecting milestones achieved by department and by country, and preparing feedback for the steering bodies (SMT, CoDir, CA).
– Participate in the deployment of decarbonization tools for missions: provision of grids and e-learning modules, creation and updating of support documents (action sheets, simplified models, practical guides).
– Provide technical support in the field, collect feedback and identify good logistics practices to fuel capitalization.
– Propose synthetic and visual monitoring formats to improve the management of decarbonization and prepare annual carbon emissions monitoring reports.
Support for the logistics and information systems director
– Contribute to internal coordination and interdepartmental interfaces (making appointments, monitoring actions, reminders)
– Participate in the writing of notes or reports (preparation of meetings, minutes)
– Assist in monitoring the department’s action plans
External and internal coordination
– Participates in meetings of the Logistics and Information Systems department
– Participates in coordination with other services and departments
– Participates in cross-organizational projects
– On request, may be required to represent the organization during external working groups (carbon footprint working group, for example)
– Contributes to the annual programming of the Logistics and IT Department
– Contributes to annual reports for the General Assembly and the Board of Directors

- Possibility of teleworking in accordance with the teleworking charter in force and the manager (4 or 12 days of teleworking per month)

- Work-study apprenticeship contract, from 12 to 24 months
- Remuneration according to current regulations
- Public transport covered 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Meal vouchers at €8.90/day of work-study, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Leave: 2.0833 CP/month
Training and Experience
- Bac+3 to Bac+5 training in logistics and/or supply chain, operational management
- Experience or interest in logistics issues (infrastructure, vehicle fleet, purchasing, supply)
Desired skills and qualities
- Good understanding of climate issues and ability to popularize indicators
- Interest in environmental issues and the climate approach in NGOs
- Good writing and interpersonal skills
- Rigor, autonomy, analytical skills
- Pedagogy
- Computer skills (pack 365);
- Very good command of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, visualization) and PowerPoint
- Knowledge and sensitivity to PowerBI, Kobo, PowerQuery tools, a plus.
- French and English, both spoken and written.
