ACTED PSEAH Policy:

The FSL Project Assistant has the responsibility to adhere to the PSEAH Policy (Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment). The (FSL Project Assistant) has the obligation to complete all mandatory trainings related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEA policy and report any safeguarding concern such as breaches of organizational policies or codes of conduct according to ACTED’s procedures. The (FSL Project Assistant) carries out work duties in a way that does not harm children, vulnerable adults or other staff or volunteers.

Job Purpose

FSL assistant is responsible for supporting FSL officer in implementation of all technical program/interventions undertaken by the organization, matching with the quality criteria and strategy related to the agriculture and livelihoods activities.

Objectives

Strengthening supervision and monitoring of the FSL activities provided to the community and ensuring that all FSL activities are done as planned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the FSL project officer in implementation of FSL field activities, agriculture value chains and livelihoods activities (Assessment, registration, verification, follow up and evaluation)
  • Monitor all ongoing activities to identify problem areas and provide advice/guidance to project officer/project manager.
  • Communicate with beneficiaries on project objectives, targeting criteria, and beneficiary entitlement
  • Follow up on all beneficiaries regularly to ensure that the implemented activities are in line with schedules provided.
  • Organize, facilitate and supervise training courses for beneficiaries in close coordination with the project officer.
  • Verify and update the beneficiary registers and report back to the Project Officer.
  • Participate in the preparation of weekly and monthly plan and schedules to be submitted to the Project Officer within given deadlines.
  • Perform data entry and data verification in relation to project implementation (e.g. contact lists, beneficiary information, beneficiary documentation).
  • Keep and maintain up-to-date, accurate records of follow-up, meetings, and other relevant documentation.
  • Develop training materials, presentations, and resources to support the training sessions.
  • Ensure accountability mechanisms are embedded in project implementation.
  • Liaise regularly with direct supervisor to provide updates on the program, discuss emerging challenges, and collaborate on the design of new programs or changes to existing programs.
  • To collect photos of program implementation and ensure that donor visibility is respected.
  • Contribute to the weekly and monthly report on the implementation of activities these will include changes and challenges.
  • Conduct any other program activities related to the provision of FSL services and assistance as instructed by the FSL Officer.

  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least university degree.
  • At least 1 year work experience with NGO/INGO in implementing agriculture/ livelihoods activities (Farmers and livestock holders support, business support and cash for work).
  • Fluent in Arabic.
  • A university degree in agriculture is highly desirable.
  • Experience in providing technical agricultural training/ business management training is highly desirable.
  • Having ToT training of trainer certificate is preferred.
  • More than 1 year experience with NGO/INGO in implementing agriculture/ livelihoods activities is preferred.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Good in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to train, mobilize
  • Ability to work well in unstable and frequently changing security environments.
