ABOUT THE CHAIN ​​OF HOPE

Chain of Hope is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and especially children, the same chances of survival and development. We work in 25 countries using a comprehensive approach, centered on the child but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities.

  1. Prevention and screening from a very young age, particularly within the framework of school health programs.
  2. Care and surgery, in order to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  3. Training and skills transfer to local teams through our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
  4. Construction and equipping of hospital facilities adapted to local needs.

POSITION AND MISSION

Within a team of 5 employees and under the responsibility of the Management Control Manager (N+1), the management controller is in charge of a portfolio of budget items (country and headquarters services).

He provides regular reporting on the activities of La Chaîne de l’Espoir and monitors the organization’s performance. He helps to optimize the association’s resources.

He works closely with:

– The financial and operational managers of the countries under his responsibility

– Head office support services (accounting, internal control, institutional relations, logistics, HR…)

– The budget managers at headquarters

He contributes to the transformation process of the Finance Department in structuring projects: deployment of an ERP by 2025, implementation of accounting management software in our areas of intervention and improvement of the budget management tools of La Chaîne de l’Espoir.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Budget – Finance

  1. Collect, analyze and consolidate financial data from operational departments
  2. To provide the financial dashboards of La Chaîne de l’Espoir while ensuring reliability
  3. Analyze the discrepancies between financial reality and forecasts, and if necessary, alert management by proposing budgetary solutions.
  4. Anticipate the budgetary risks to which La Chaîne de l’Espoir is exposed and propose corrective measures to avoid them (control the financial arrangements of the projects, monitor the implementation of budgets ensuring that they comply with the contracts to which they relate…)
  5. Validate all financial documents before submitting them to institutional funders or private donors (budget, budget amendment, financial reports). Ensure that financial commitments comply with the commitments made to funders and donors.
  6. Facilitate budget planning exercises for the budget centers under his/her responsibility
  7. Participate in the development of budget construction procedures and tools, and provide support to non-financial operational staff in the proper use of the tools.
  8. Contribute to the smooth running of internal or external project audits for matters within the financial scope

Accounting

  1. Control analytical allocations
  2. Contribute to the accounting closing process within your area of ​​responsibility.
  3. Contribute with the accounting department to monitoring the reporting of accounting information.

Treasury

  1. To monitor and approve funding requests from the countries under his responsibility
  2. Track payments received from donors
  3. Participate in cash flow forecasting

Other

  1. Participate in the development of management tools and procedures
  2. Participate in the configuration and implementation of new files, tools or software
  3. Ensure the proper archiving of key documents within its scope (budgets, financial reports)
  4. Participate in the recruitment process for field administrative and financial teams (preparation of tests, corrections, technical interviews)
  5. To ensure the strengthening of the skills of field administrative and financial teams in the use of financial tools and the implementation of good management practices.
  6. Contribute to the proper implementation of financial management procedures within field teams and with our operational partners.

PROFILE SOUGHT

FORMATION ET EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in Management Control, CCA, Finance, Business Strategy, Financial Management or any other equivalent training (DSCG…).

Experience in international solidarity NGOs at headquarters and in the field (minimum experience required of 3 years).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Good level of English
  • Knowledge of institutional donors
  • Proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • Experience using accounting software is required.
  • Analytical and synthesis skills
  • A taste for teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
  • Rigour and reliability
  • Ability to support/train teams in tools/methods
  • Adherence to the humanitarian principles and code of ethics of La Chaîne de l’Espoir

CONDITIONS

  • Executive status – Fixed-term contract until June 30, 2027
  • Desired start date: August 2026
  • Health insurance covers 80%
  • 50% reimbursement of transport pass or sustainable mobility allowance (bike) of 45 euros/month
  • Meal vouchers worth €12.10 covered at 60%
  • Teleworking policy: regular (up to 12 days per month after the first month in the office) or permanent with a minimum of 4 days in the office per month for people residing outside the Ile-de-France region.
  • 23 days of annual RTT (reduced working time)
  • Salary range: between €39,000 and €43,200 gross per year depending on profile and experience
