Internship In The Development And Partnerships Office – 3 Months At International Federation for Human Rights

The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) is an NGO that brings together nearly 200 civil society organizations worldwide. Founded in 1922, it is committed to defending fundamental freedoms and the universality of rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Independent of any government and recognized for its expertise, the FIDH works to strengthen mechanisms for the protection of human rights and human rights defenders by conducting advocacy campaigns, investigating violations, and pursuing legal action. In all its activities, the FIDH integrates a gender-sensitive and anti-colonial approach. Its headquarters are located in Paris, and its teams are present in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. The FIDH also has delegations to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the European Union in Brussels, the United Nations in Geneva, and the African Union in Nairobi.

We are recruiting an intern for a 3-month period in the Development and Partnerships department.

YOUR MISSIONS

As part of a team of 5 people (4 in Paris and 1 in Geneva) responsible for fundraising and maintaining relationships with partners, and reporting to the Department Director, you will be involved in the following tasks:

A/ Contribute to the development of new public and private resources

  • Monitor funding opportunities from both public institutional partners and private partners (private foundations, companies), related to specific themes or geographical areas.
  • Analyze calls for projects and funding opportunities
  • Conduct documentary research and update the targeted research (mapping) of actors,
  • Identify contacts in a targeted manner and assist with appointment scheduling.
  • Supporting the creation and standardization of external communication tools for FIDH’s prospects and partners

B/ Participate in the development of project proposals and the proper administrative management of contracts

  • Supporting the team in the various phases of project proposal development (design, coordination, planning, etc.),
  • Contribute to the standardization of project development and management processes: creation and dissemination of tools, creation and updating of project fact sheets, creation of donor fact sheets to improve compliance,
  • Contribute to the archiving of proposals, contracts, and deliverables and integrate the information into the CRM (Salesforce) and under a shared folder (cloud).

C/ Organize events and participate in various departmental tasks

  • Participate in the organization of events for individual donors (film club, etc.) or partners (FIFDH of Geneva…),
  • Participate occasionally in inter-NGO coordination meetings or events,
  • Provide assistance with administrative aspects of managing individual donations according to needs (tax receipts, etc.).
  • To support the department’s needs across the board (meeting minutes, etc.).

PROFILE SOUGHT

  • Graduated within the last year or currently a student at a Master’s level (postgraduate level) in a Sciences Po institute, business school or university
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English. A good knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
  • Strong synthesis and analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in teamwork.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Full-time internship (39 hours per week) ideally starting from March 1, 2026.
  • Mandatory condition: to have an internship agreement issued by a French educational institution.
  • Monthly stipend of €659.76. Digital meal voucher card with a face value of €9, 60% of which is covered by FIDH. Sustainable mobility allowance for commuting.
  • 6 days of RTT over the period and acquisition of 2 days of paid leave per month.
  • The internship will take place at the FIDH headquarters in Paris and partly remotely.
