Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods Project Coordinator At Orange

General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Since its establishment, Orange has partnered directly with affected Syrian populations, delivering programs spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programs in the Early Recovery and Livelihoods, Food Security and agriculture, Education and Protection, WASH, and Shelter, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms. Orange collaborates with various national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that improves the response’s impact on the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

Under the scope of livelihood and economic empowerment activities and facilitating the labor market for Syrians under temporary protection and other refugees in Turkey, as well as supporting local markets profitability, the project aims to support small businesses via the provision of training, know-how, and productive asset support to vulnerable community members, in the aim of providing sustainable businesses and facilitating access to labor market in Bursa.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

The project coordinator, being based in the project location, will play an integral role in the implementation of the project’s day-to-day activities and ensure the achievement of project targets while supervising other project staff members and ensuring effective communication and flow of data to project management and coordination with other Orange departments and external stakeholders.

Planning and organizing:

  • Ensure the achievement of the project plan, and take the lead in developing and implementing detailed weekly and monthly implementation plans.
  • Oversee the livelihoods center’s activities in accordance with agreed work plans and coordination with the line manager.
  • Ensure confidentiality and data security controls processes are in place and and that relevant data security and privacy laws are being adhered to by project staff.
  • Collaborate with the M&E team to ensure monitoring activities are in place and relevant to measure the impact of livelihood programs and the quality of activities.

Reporting:

  • Track the activities’ progress within the area of operations, ensure proper collection of project indicators, and provide on-time internal status reports and contribute to external donor reports according to donor and other applicable timeframes and formats.
  • Maintain project records and ensure that hard documents and soft documents are properly organized and backed up periodically
  • Report all projects’ security issues immediately and ensure proper incident reports are submitted.

Implementation and program:

  • Ensure the implementation of project plans and communicate any challenges and deviations from the project’s initial planning.
  • Oversee the implementation of project staff duties and responsibilities
  • provide supervision training and guidance to project staff to facilitate the implementation of their duties
  • apply quality assurance measures to the activity implementation
  • ensure activities are being implemented in communication with external stakeholders as relevant
  • troubleshoot activities, issues, and inconveniences and communicate with beneficiaries professionally while ensuring that project staff follows.
  • Represent Orange in stakeholders’ meetings and coordination efforts relevant to the direct implementation of activities in coordination with the line manager.
  • Provide technical contribution to the design of M&E tools and support the MEAL team in data analysis.

Operational:

  • Highly contribute to the liaison with Turkish institutions and local authorities, local NGO partners, and CBOs concerning livelihood activities and project implementation.
  • In coordination with the HR department, contribute to the staff capacity building based on identified needs and capacity building plans.
  • Oh, we’ll see that the project center is in good shape, well maintained, and a safe environment for beneficiaries and workers.
  • In coordination with the Orange Logistics Department, ensure that equipment and supplies needed to facilitate activities and normal center operations are available at all times.
  • Adhere fully to the commitments and rules of Orange’s Code of Conduct.

Requirements:

  • Business administration, Economy, or any relevant field of study.
  • At least three years of proven work experience within the field of livelihoods with at least two years in livelihoods project implementation in Turkey;
  • Proven technical knowledge;
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with multiple parties and external stakeholders;
  • Good reporting skills;
  • Sound judgment and ability to make impartial recommendations;
  • Good command of computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Good command of English and Arabic, and Turkish languages (oral and written )
  • Experience delivering capacity-building training and materials development is preferred;
  • Hard-working, proactive, and able to prioritize and delegate a demanding workload.
