The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is the UN agency on the front line in the fight against hunger. Since its creation in 1963, WFP staff around the world have worked tirelessly to eradicate this scourge. Every year, WFP feeds more than 90 million people in more than 70 countries.
In Haiti, WFP and its partners provide assistance to the most vulnerable populations with a view to achieving the Zero Hunger objective. The WFP is notably involved in the implementation of a school canteen program, which constitutes the largest food safety net in the country, as well as in resilience, social protection, nutrition, emergency preparedness and response activities.
MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the general supervision of the Country Director and under the direct supervision of the Head of Logistics, the Logistics Associate implements standardized logistics support procedures and activities and is responsible for ensuring the traceability of food in the LESS system, so as to be able to effectively ensure the supply of goods and services, for all execution methods.
- Play an active role in carrying out operations and logistical support activities by respecting standard procedures and by facilitating, directly or indirectly, the provision of food assistance to beneficiaries.
- Process requests for transfers and deliveries of foodstuffs and carry out transport planning in LESS.
- Develop SOPs and guides to support warehouse teams in their transactions in the LESS system.
- Ensure that STO – LTI are given to persons authorized by the carriers and that all transactions are made within the time limits set in the LESS system to avoid any backlog .
- In the event of a delay, analyze the problem with the teams and propose improvement solutions.
- Ensure the integrity of information relating to transport and storage, including product tracking in WFP standard systems (LESS, etc.).
- Support planning activities and decision-making by producing regular performance reports, but also by participating in the development of complex reports.
- Monitor logistics operations and the transfer of foodstuffs and carry out all related LESS transactions. Carry out the required analyzes on the efficiency of port operations and transport operations (cost-effectiveness).
- Ensure monitoring and evaluation of transaction performance in the LESS system.
- List, respond to, and/or make recommendations on technical requests and requests for assistance, using initiative and following standard procedures, to ensure timely and accurate processing of all requests. requests for information with great attention to customer service.
- Ensure the establishment, monitoring and review of budgets for all execution modalities, and ensure compliance with applicable procedures in accordance with institutional standards.
- Oversee inventory management operations to analyze trends and report inventory status from source to beneficiary, including supporting the LESS Last-Mile project.
- Manage the planning of monthly inventories and provide the necessary support for the smooth running of these exercises.
- Conduct research, collect data, conduct analysis, prepare reports and ensure the accuracy of information in internal systems to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Actively participate in the reconciliation of LESS – COMET systems by working collaboratively
- Supervise the work of support staff and provide practical advice and guidance to ensure that individual and collective objectives are achieved in accordance with agreed standards and deadlines, across all support modalities.
- Perform any other tasks requested by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Completion of secondary education. A post-secondary certificate in the functional area considered is desirable.
Experience:
- Experience with internal systems used to track current shipments, supplies, claims and food inventory.
- Experience in data analysis (on goods, funds, etc.) and reporting.
- Experience in evaluating the results achieved by service providers against defined key performance indicators.
- Experience in assisting in the preparation of contractual documents.
- Experience providing technical assistance with the use of internal systems.
