This position is open to Haitian nationals and residents of Haiti, holders of a legal work permit.

WFP is implementing a strategic plan through which it provides food aid to the most vulnerable people mainly through general food distributions, nutritional interventions in schools, resilience building programs using food transfers in food or cash transfers (CBT), and capacity building.

WFP operations in Haiti focus on lifesaving interventions to improve the food and nutrition security of the most vulnerable people affected by hunger.

WFP supports communities by distributing food (including specialized nutritious foods), helping small farmers restore and strengthen their productive assets, and building resilience to crises.

This position is to be filled in WFP Haiti warehouses.

The incumbent reports to the Warehouse Management Assistant or Deputy, or his/her Deputy. He/she participates in all warehousing operations and activities with minimal supervision. He/she may be required to supervise other warehouse personnel or train them on the job.

The objective of the position is to ensure the receipt/dispatch and verification of goods to maximize the quality of warehousing operations and mitigate losses, and help apply best inventory management practices in accordance with standards and WFP directives in force on this subject.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list):

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  1. Efficiently ensure the receipt and dispatch of goods, including their transshipment (between trucks) and refer to approved official documents (waybills, delivery notes, etc.) in order to guarantee the accuracy of the physical count of goods. goods, including verifying that the quality complies with established standards.
  2. Prepare, verify and validate warehousing and transportation documents and manage confidential files and data on warehousing operations, in order to promptly report on the movement of goods in accordance with WFP requirements.
  3. Perform daily, upon warehouse closure, stock reconciliations and verifications contributing to internal control systems, in accordance with warehouse management requirements.
  4. Perform daily inspections and report on quantity and quality of goods received/sent and handled, promptly detect and analyze reasons for inventory discrepancies or damage, investigate missing quantities and report on warehouse losses by recommending suitable solutions, in order to enable informed decision-making.
  5. Apply appropriate protective measures for food and non-food items to ensure quality control using standard prevention measures in accordance with established WFP procedures and after authorization from the line manager.
  6. Monitor the condition of the warehouse and goods and take appropriate action to help plan storage space efficiently and store goods methodically in accordance with WFP standards.
  7. Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse personnel to help them improve and be efficient.
  8. All other tasks at the request of the hierarchy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education :

Secondary school diploma (BAC). A post-secondary certificate in the functional area considered is desirable.

Experience :

At least four (4) years of professional experience in database management and generating periodic reports.

  • Experience managing warehouses containing food and non-food items.
  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Experience processing invoices.

Knowledge and skills :

  • Ability to carry out several tasks in parallel, and to respond simultaneously and promptly to the requirements of the position.
  • High sense of responsibility and punctuality.
  • Honesty and integrity.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and to draft various letters.
