Bahar Organization is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian aids to vulnerable people without any discrimination in all its forms. BO is operating to respond to the needs and basic requirements of the humanitarian crisis in Syria in the middle of the affected communities caused by the conflict the basic principles of BO’s activities are to enhance the basic living standards of the affected population by delivering humanitarian aid based on the needs.

General View of the Position:

Liaison Officer act as mediator between Bahar and Turkish local authorities and society. They provide necessary assistance and advice to Bahar Organization and its staff in alignment with Gaziantep/Kilis/Hatay Local authorities and society regulations and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working on project implantation approval and MoU with the governorate.
  • Facilitate communications with Kilis/Hatay/Gaziantep local authorities and society.
  • Communicate with AFAD/ Health/Education/ Youth and Sports …etc and other institutions that Bahar coordinates with regarding staff access.
  • Following up on staff work permits from the SGK and charted accountant.
  • Attending internal and external meetings and conferences held by the governor’s office/AFAD/Health/Education and related public institutions to provide necessary coordination.
  • Assisting all departments in contacting the official authorities.
  • Up-to-date information on official holidays and occasions in Turkiye.
  • Providing the Organization’s stakeholders with needed assistance, information, and transactions, when required.
  • Prepare and review the final Crossing borders list, and follow up on the cross-border request from other departments.
  • Improve the built relations of Bahar with Health/AFAD/Education/Sports and Youth/Family and Social Services …etc Directorates in Gaziantep/Hatay/Urfa/Kilis.
  • Improve the built relations of Bahar with the Civil Affairs Relation Directorate of Hatay/Kilis/Gaziantep.
  • Produce regular reports on the meetings attended on behalf of Bahar.
  • Translate any documents required for the purposes of coordination / external relations.
  • Promote and model a positive, professional, and respectful office culture.

Academic Qualification/s and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law or equivalent.
  • Excellent and wide relationships with stakeholders.
  • A resident of Gaziantep City with in-depth knowledge of its key locations.
  • At least 2 years experience in NGO work.
  • Native Turkish and Arabic or English is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills (internal and external) with multi-cultured people.
  • Empathy with organizational vision, mission, goals, and objectives; commitment to humanitarian principles and actions.
  • Good team worker while able to work independently.
  • Good communication and social skills and ability to work in multicultural settings.
  • Computer skills: good.
  • Presentable and initiative
