SCOPE OF WORK
To interpret written or spoken material into one or more other languages, ensuring meaning and context are maintained, create glossaries or term dictionaries, possess the knowledge, and work with SCD team.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
- Duty station: Turkey / Istanbul – Gaziantep
- Line manager: Admin Senior Officer
- Line management Responsibility: N/A
- Full-time/Part-time: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Provide written English-Arabic-English translation of written documents, transcription of audio or video recordings.
- Provide all English-Arabic written translation services and interpretation necessary for the work of SCD.
- Provide oral interpretation for meetings, interviews, and workshops.
- Translation of policies and procedures.
- Translation of reports and correspondence of partners.
- Any other tasks as required and requested by SCD management.
- Provide Arabic and English written deliverable, as needed.
- Verbal interpretation from English to Arabic and vice versa.
Note: the above-mentioned responsibilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart or title.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
Essential:
- Bachelor degree in English Language & literature, translation.
- 5 years’ experience in the translation/ & interpretation field.
- Advance level in English.
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in English Language & literature, translation.
- 8 years’ experience in the translation/ & interpretation field
