The objective of the base logistician position is to guarantee efficient compliance with the established processes of the logistics area, so as to ensure the adequate accounting and administrative execution of the mission, through the performance of functions related to logistics, and documentary management established by Action Against Hunger. The professional must support the administrative and logistical management of the mission, ensuring compliance with the policies and standards established by Action Against Hunger in Venezuela, donors and local legislation.
The main activities you will perform are the following:
Objective 1: Ensure logistics management at the base
- Supervision of the organization of maintenance/improvements of the office/home and warehouse.
- Management of infrastructure, furniture and equipment of the base.
- Keep control of communications equipment (landlines, cell phones, satellites)
- Support the design and construction of projects with purchasing plans with the core and coordination team
- Support the planning of use, maintenance and monitoring of vehicles and the organization of the daily duties of logistics assistant drivers.
- Inventory management, control and monitoring of stocks and warehouse management.
- Develop methods, processes and standards for Coordlog approval according to the needs of the base.
- Participation in the preparation of the Strategic Logistics Plan of the Region.
- Organization and procurement of external transportation; suppliers, routes, prices, insurance, etc.,
- Maintain close relationships with local authorities and communities.
Objective 2: Support the correct management of acquisition processes at the base
- Reception, construction and processing of purchase orders
- Preparation of purchasing processes in accordance with ACH Venezuela standards
- Continually investigate the local, regional and national market
- Preparation of the supply plan in conjunction with the mission project managers and base managers.
- Prepare order requests according to the needs of the project.
- Supervise the purchasing process, consolidating the offers received and promoting the execution of balanced purchasing committees by applying Action Against Hunger and donor regulations.
- Promote strategies, links, alliances, framework agreements that allow optimizing and/or reducing costs, reducing delivery times of purchase orders at the main office and at the bases.
- Monitor the status of assigned SPs, promoting the use of purchase tracking tools.
- Organization and filing in accordance with the physical and digital filing policy.
Objective 3: Manage aspects of operational logistics
- Supervises and manages logistics movements and movements by land, air and river as the case may be.
- Supervision, monitoring and reporting of the use, maintenance and consumption of equipment, communications and equipment infrastructure according to logistical procedures standardized by ACH, guaranteeing that the inventory of supplies and equipment is in accordance with the physical information of the base. .
- Inventory management, control and monitoring of stocks and warehouse management at the base.
- Identify, update and report base logistics needs to the mission logistics coordinator.
Objective 4: Carry out and accompany the administrative aspects of the base, counterparts and/or local partners.
- Accompaniment to counterparts in compliance with purchasing procedures, fleet management, equipment management and stock management (materials, medicine, etc.)
- Support in the logistical justification of reports, consolidating database data.
- Carry out Briefing for new consultants as part of the Induction process carried out by the Human Resources Coordination.
- Maintain open contact with the Coordlog and be willing to get involved in issues related to the development of mission logistics.
- Analyze the situation of the base continuously and give recommendations to the Coordlog and DP, when necessary
- Preparation of Purchasing Plan together with the base team
- Preparation and monitoring of the Supply Plan of ongoing projects.
- Know and empower the Mission’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
Objective 5: Reports.
- Prepare the following base logistics reports:
- Equipment report.
- Vehicle use report.
- Stock movement report. (materials and medicines)
- Monthly logistics report.
- Satellite call report
- Environmental report
- Donation reports.
- Narrative of activities You will be responsible for sending reports monthly, within the established time, analyzing the information and highlighting pending problems to the Logistics Coordinator.

- Demonstrated experience of at least three years in logistics management in companies or organizations in the public or private sector.
- Demonstrated experience of at least two years in purchasing process management.
