Peru – Audiovisual communication Advisor At Oxfam-Québec

This is a 12-month mandate in Lima, Peru.

The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 12 countries and 3 regions over a eight-year period (2020-2028).

The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in countries of intervention in inclusive, innovative and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.

Here’s what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with Oxfam’s in-country team members and VCP partners, your mandate will be to:

Support the implementation of the institutional communication strategy by developing the capacities of Oxfam’s VCP partners in Peru

  • Capacity building and advice to VCP partners in graphic and/or audiovisual communication, through the development of communication strategies or products, as required;
  • Identify and propose key contents of the work with VCP partners that can be used by the different communication channels of Oxfam in Peru and/or shared within the Confederation;
  • Elaborate short graphic and audiovisual products for social networks as required by the communication team;
  • Propose the best graphic and/or audiovisual formats according to institutional needs and in line with the most current trends;
  • Photographic and/or audiovisual coverage of events when required;
  • Travel to places where Oxfam and/or its partners’ initiatives are implemented and make the photographic/audiovisual record as required;
  • Scripting of audiovisual products when required;
  • Support in the review of graphic and/or audiovisual products commissioned to third parties.

Support in the implementation and strengthening of graphic and audiovisual capacities in support of VCP members

  • Youth Activism (Actua.pe Labs)
    • Accompany and/or advise the communications commission of the Núcleo Impulsor de Actúa.pe in the conceptualization and elaboration of graphic and/or audiovisual products; – Identify and/or propose ad hoc training sessions on audiovisual communication issues aimed at young activists (audiovisual narrative; storytelling); – Visibilize the work of youth organizations through the generation of photographic/audiovisual content that can be disseminated through various channels and public platforms; – Support the organization and coverage of the National Laboratory of Youth Activism and macro-regional laboratories, competitive funds, workshops, etc.
  • Indigenous Women and Women’s Rights
    • Visibilize the work of the transforming leadership of women, indigenous women, partners of the PCV through audiovisual and/or graphic products or initiatives; – Visibilize initiatives aimed at highlighting and/or strengthening women’s rights of PCV members/partners.
  • Digital Platforms (Actua.pe Digital)
    • Support in the development of short audiovisual products (reels, stories) for Actua.pe digital’s Instagram; – Support in the conceptualization and review of videos for the TikTok of Actúa.pe digital.
  • Participation, management and accountability
    • Participate in regular planning and follow-up meetings of the teams in which he/she participates (PCV, Coms and Oxfam in Peru, etc); – Contribute to the accountability of the impact of the activities in charge; – Support the communication and activism team of the country office in the planning and implementation of events (face-to-face and virtual) with Oxfam brand and/or with Actua.pe brand; – Lead and develop intervention proposals in charge (PCV Funds); – Manage and account for the financial resources in charge.

For this mandate you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have university degree in audiovisual communication, or any other relevant field;
  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience in developing audiovisual and graphic communication initiatives and products (short documentaries, webdocumentaries, websites, corporate videos, etc.);
  • Proficiency in the Office suite and the following software (advanced proficiency required): Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, as well as Canon EOS/Nikon D series cameras or similar;
  • Be fluent in Spanish, spoken and written (required).

What we offer:

  • Monthly allowance for living expenses;
    • 20% increase in the allowance per accompanying child (maximum of 2children)
  • 1,500$ CAD per year/per child for school fees;

Se trata de una misión de 12 meses en Lima, Perú.

El mandato es parte del Programa de Cooperación Voluntaria (PCV) de Igualdad en Acción, que se ejecuta en 12 países y 3 regiones durante un período de ocho años (2020-2028).

El PCV tiene como objetivo aumentar la participación de las socias locales en los países de intervención a través de iniciativas inclusivas, innovadoras y sostenibles que promoverán la igualdad de género. El papel de Oxfam consiste en apoyar a estas organizaciones, trabajando con las personas más vulnerables y marginalizadas, para que revindiquen y ejerzan sus derechos. Oxfam pone los derechos de las mujeres, las niñas y las personas vulnerables y marginalizadas en el centro de todo lo que hace.

En estrecha colaboración con los miembros del equipo de Oxfam y los socios en el país, su mandato consistirá en:

Apoyar en la implementación de la estrategia de comunicación institucional desarrollando capacidades de las copartes del PCV en Oxfam en Perú

  • Fortalecimiento de capacidades y asesorías a las copartes del PCV en materia de comunicación gráfica y/o audiovisual, a través de la elaboración de estrategias o productos de comunicación, según sea requerido;
  • Identificar y proponer contenidos clave del trabajo con copartes del PCV que pueda ser usado por los diferentes canales de comunicación de Oxfam en Perú y/o compartidos al interior de la Confederación;
  • Elaborar productos gráficos y audiovisuales cortos para redes sociales según sea requerido por el equipo de comunicación;
  • Proponer los mejores formatos gráficos y/o audiovisuales según las necesidades institucionales y en línea con las tendencias más actuales;
  • Cobertura fotográfica y/o audiovisual de eventos cuando sea requerido;
  • Viajar a lugares donde se implementan iniciativas de Oxfam y/o sus copartes y realizar el registro fotográfico/audiovisual según sea requerido;
  • Elaboración de guiones para productos audiovisuales cuando sea requerido;
  • Apoyar en la revisión de productos gráficos y/o audiovisuales encargados a terceros.

For this mandate you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have a university degree in audiovisual communication, or any other relevant field;
  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience in the development of audiovisual and graphic communication initiatives and products (documentary short films, webdocumentaries, websites, corporate videos, etc.);
  • Possess proficiency in the Office package and the following computer programs (advanced proficiency required): Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, as well as Canon EOS/Nikon D series cameras or similar;
  • Possess command of spoken and written Spanish (mandatory).

What we offer:

  • A monthly subsistence allowance for basic expenses;
  • 20% increase in the allowance for each accompanying child (maximum of 2 children)
    • $1,500 CAD per year/per child for school expenses;
  • A monthly housing allowance;
  • Round trip plane ticket with 2 suitcases in the hold;
    • Round trip plane ticket for each accompanying child
  • $200 CAD for additional luggage;
  • Advantageous health insurance for you and your accompanying child(ren);
