Private Sector Engagement, Movement Fundraising Specialist At International Committee of the Red Cross

Reports to (role)

Income Stream Coordinator Private Sector Engagement (PSE) for Eurasia

Context

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) www.icrc.org responds to worldwide humanitarian needs through its global network of delegations. The ICRC is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

In the context of growing humanitarian needs, the ICRC launched its Resource Mobilization Strategy 2020-2030 to guide fundraising over the course of the next decade. It provides ambitious targets, including for income from the private sector. This strategy is underpinned by the Movement-wide Principles for Resource Mobilization, agreed at the 2017 Council of Delegates, which articulate a vision in which resource mobilization within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement becomes more than the sum of individual efforts by different Movement components. Fundraising at the ICRC is geared towards making this vision a reality.

Purpose

The ICRC sees substantial further potential in greater collaboration with Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners in engaging private sector supporters to ensure that our Movement secures the resources it needs to continue to alleviate human suffering around the world. This role will help lead this work across the Eurasia Region, working to identify, prioritise, develop, and maintain private sector fundraising collaboration opportunities with Red Crescent and Red Cross National Societies (National Societies) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

This role requires flexibility, agility, strong influencing skills and broad private sector development experience to build fundraising partnerships which drive value for all involved. The post-holder will work collaboratively and effectively to track, advise on and advance a growing range of Movement resource mobilization-related workstreams and partnerships.
