Context

Santé Sud is a French international solidarity NGO, present in Tunisia since 1986, whose headquarters is based in Marseille in France. Santé Sud specializes in supporting development projects in the social and health fields in Tunisia.

The office of the National Representation (RN) of Santé Sud in Tunisia is a branch of Santé Sud, an Association under French law 1901. The RN of Santé Sud Tunisie is subject to the statutes of Santé Sud and in particular its charter. It is required to respect the general policy of Santé Sud defined in its Associative Project.

The “SAHA EL MOUJTAM3” project: capacity building and networking of local stakeholders for the improvement of patient pathways in Gafsa and Sidi Bouzid ” implemented by Santé Sud (2024-2026) aims to sustainably improve access to a provision of quality care for residents of the interior areas of Tunisia, in Gafsa and Sidi Bouzid. The project’s objectives are: 1/ to support local health structures with a view to improving their organizational capacities, their referral system and the quality of patient pathways, particularly for chronic pathologies and/or non-communicable diseases ( diabetes, cancer), 2/ to strengthen the capacities and involvement of civil society organizations in the interior areas of Tunisia, which will be in charge of health promotion and whose role will be to raise awareness and guide the patients to the local health system. The project will base its intervention on a community health and Aller-vers approach.

Santé Sud is looking for a project manager who will be based in Tunisia.

Job Description

The Project Manager reports hierarchically to the South Tunisia Health Coordinator and is in charge of implementing the project entrusted to him. Its role is to ensure:

  • Planning and operational implementation of the project,
  • The establishment of indicators and their monitoring throughout the project,
  • Administrative and logistical monitoring of activities,
  • Monitoring and budgetary management of the project, in conjunction with the accountant,
  • The development and management of partnerships with civil society,
  • The development and management of partnerships with health structures,
  • Relations with local authorities and other institutional partners,
  • Support for the recruitment of consultants and/or employees if necessary,
  • The organization of volunteer expert missions from the Santé Sud network,
  • Evaluation of the achievement of program objectives/results and their analysis;
  • Information and communication internally and externally related to the project;
  • Internal and external accountability.

Required profile

Qualification :

  • BAC + 5 in development project management, and/or in the medical and paramedical professions
  • Five years of experience desired in a Project Manager position
  • Experience in the associative sector would be a plus
  • Training or experience in the healthcare field would be a plus

Qualities and skills required:

  • Strong project management experience (technical/budgetary).
  • Understanding and experience of the community health approach.
  • Experience in prevention/awareness in the health field.
  • Experience in supporting local civil society.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Planning and analysis capacity,
  • Sense of initiative, independence in work.
  • Perfect command of French, written and spoken.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Mastery of computer tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Internet).

Position conditions

  • Place of assignment: Tunis and travel to be expected in the governorates of Gafsa and Sidi Bouzid.
  • Type of contract: 2-year fixed-term contract (local contract).
  • Full-time position.
  • Starting position: April 2024.
