Cesvi in ​​Venezuela

Since 2019, Cesvi has been working in Venezuela with initiatives in the field of protection of children, adolescent girls and women in highly vulnerable conditions, including survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation. Starting in 2021, Cesvi began to implement projects financed by the Country Humanitarian Fund in communities in Caracas.

During 2022-24, Cesvi will implement the project “Multi-sector humanitarian assistance to address the urgent needs of the most vulnerable people in Venezuela” which aims to strengthen the availability of protection services, primary health and humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable people and communities. vulnerable affected by the crisis. Cesvi will develop its activities in the State of Falcon, based in Coro, and travel to other municipalities.

To meet these objectives, the formation of a high-level technical team capable of providing effective responses to the populations served during case management is required; To this end, Cesvi is looking for a Psychosocial Care Manager to guide and implement action plans aimed at providing a timely and effective psychosocial response to women survivors of GBV, SGBV and children and adolescents at risk of protection.

Description of functions

Psychosocial care

  • Design, document and implement a protocol for psychosocial care for children and adolescents at risk of protection, survivors of GBV.
  • Provide psychological first aid to people in emergency situations or when required.
  • Provide psychosocial care services in the modality that adapts to the context (in-person or remote) to the project’s target population, including victims of SGBV.
  • Support the process of psychosocial support for leaders and/or young people in order to strengthen their self-protection capacities and mitigate the level of risk and emotional impact generated by risk or threatening situations.
  • Develop community meetings for the provision of group psychosocial services while maintaining the correct biosafety measures established by Cesvi.
  • Promote the mental health and psychosocial well-being of all people assisted within the framework of case management.
  • Update the project beneficiary databases monthly in the formats established for this purpose with their respective monitoring (Excel and Online).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of data linked to the cases received, as well as ensure that they are stored securely.
  • Guide, advise and accompany the beneficiary population of the project throughout the process of assistance and connection to possible support networks or territorial services.
  • Support and monitor case management in coordination with local authorities and protection networks.
  • Support in the articulation and activation of institutional offer routes and in the referral of cases to specialized services provided by local actors.

Case Management

  • Contribute to the initial mapping for the identification of existing services available in the territory, related to protection routes, basic and specialized services, aimed at response and prevention in GBV, and those aimed at children and adolescents at risk.
  • Develop, in close collaboration with other members of the Cesvi team, a protocol for case management and routes that guarantee access to basic services for children and adolescents who are victims and/or survivors of GBV.
  • Assist in the identification and planning of exit strategies and intervention plans, aimed at the beneficiary population, in the area of ​​their competence.
  • Collaborate closely with the team in collecting the information necessary for case management (intake form, referral form, individual care plans, follow-up reports and other documents useful for case management).

Support to the Cesvi team

  • Train the Cesvi team to provide emotional first aid to vulnerable populations.
  • Generate tools for the emotional and professional self-care of the Cesvi team.
  • Guide the Cesvi team and partners when required in the initial identification of cases in the field, which are the subject of psychosocial and mental health care.

Others

  • Carry out and accompany needs assessments in the area, supporting the identification of opportunities and risk factors related to the area of ​​your competence.
  • Support, in coordination with the rest of the project team, in the logistics and administration of the activities.
  • Prepare statistical and/or management reports according to requirements.
  • Write and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Support in the monitoring and follow-up of care and activities to meet the program’s indicator goals.
  • Participate in team and supervision meetings either remotely or in person depending on the context.
  • Participate in the training and exchange of experiences processes to which you are invited.
  • The other functions that are assigned by your immediate superior and that are related to the nature of the position.

Required attributes

Essential attributes

Training:

University degree in Psychology with specialization or specific experience in psychosocial care aimed at vulnerable populations.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience of at least three years working in activities caring for vulnerable people.
  • Experience in psychosocial care for survivors of violence or sexual exploitation.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework on care for GBV survivors, care routes, accessibility to services.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial first aid techniques and tools.

Competencies

  • Capacity for synthetic and structured written expression.
  • Proactive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a culturally diverse team.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues, partners, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Ease of working with communities in complex social contexts.
  • Solid command of Microsoft Office Package. (Will be assessed in technical test)
  • Use of information management tools on the web and computer science domain.

Preferred attributes

  • Work experience in the humanitarian context.
  • Experience in executing activities in territories with complex contexts and limited resources
  • Knowledge of the Venezuelan crisis, migration and displacement.
  • Knowledge of the project cycle.
  • Knowledge of the Humanitarian Structure in the country.

The position is exclusive for people who are Venezuelan or have valid documentation to work in the country.

Conditions

  • Location: Falcón, Venezuela. Base in Coro, with trips to other municipalities in the State of Falcón.
  • Contract duration: Until May 31, 2024, with the possibility of renewal.
